Yuji Itadori vs. Panda is a fake battle put on by Yuji Itadori and Panda to entertain the spectators at the Gachinko Fight Club tournament and get Kinji Hakari's attention.
Prologue
Yuji discovers he has a secret ally inside the fight club.
Yuji and Megumi arrive in Tochigi Prefecture around five o'clock on November 10, 2018, in an attempt to infiltrate Hakari's fight club to ask for help combating the Culling Game. Fight club security tries to turn them away at the door but Megumi uses some clever bluffs to negotiate Yuji a fight.
Megumi and Yuji make a plan outside the building before they split up. They're aware that Hakari was probably watching them through the cameras and devise a plan for Yuji to somehow make contact with Hakari on the inside.
Yuji goes into the fight club to prepare and the security guard reviews the rules with him. He also lets Yuji know that dazzling the spectators might get the boss's attention, giving the young man a concrete goal. When he's brought out to the fighting area Yuji notices that they removed the floor above them so the spectators can watch the fights below. The bruiser shows Yuji his opponent and he's surprised, but not for the reason the security guard assumes. The fight club announcer John☆Bobby promptly introduces both fighters: Yuji and none other than the Panda that isn't a Panda.[1]
Battle
Yuji and Panda both know the fight club business is all about putting on an exhilarating show for the spectators. They fight high and low in three dimensions where the crowd can see all the action. One clash takes place in the air, level with the broken floor up close for everyone to see.
Panda throws the fight after successfully entertaining the crowd with Yuji.
Yuji delivers a diving flurry of punches from above as Panda parries and throws strikes of his own while falling backward. Panda tries to deliver a counter punch but Yuji jumps off the side of the broken floor and flips behind Panda, striking him in the leg. The fight comes across as such a spectacle that John☆Bobby claims it's the best bout in his short tenure as the announcer. All the while Yuji and Panda are just faking it to put on a show while they secretly exchange information with each other.
Yuji asks if Panda has met Hakari but he replies that he hasn't. Hakari knows Panda and isn't suspicious but he's avoiding him anyway. Panda asks if Yuji is hiding that he's allied with Jujutu High, which the first-year confirms. Glad, Panda gives the signal for Yuji to end the fight. Yuji delivers a powerful right hook that sends Panda flying back. Panda dramatically sells the hit and claims he can't move, prompting Yuji to quietly comment on his bad acting.[2]
Aftermath
John☆Bobby announces that Yuji is the victor and all the spectators appear to be impressed. They aren't the only ones, as Hakari calls his men to set up a meeting with Yuji. Hakari took notice of how Yuji dazzles the crowd up top with his fighting style and wants to fix fights with scripts using him. He also tells his men to keep on the lookout for Megumi before expressing his excitement for this new opportunity.[3]
