Yuji Itadori & Choso vs. Cursed Spirits is an exorcism performed by excommunicated Tokyo Jujutsu High first-year student, Yuji Itadori and the Cursed Womb: Death Painting, Choso. It takes place in the abandoned remains of Shibuya during Yuji and Choso's efforts to reduce the number of cursed spirits that have spread to all twenty-three wards of Tokyo.
Prologue
Immediately following Pseudo-Geto's escape at the end of the Shibuya Incident, Yuji spoke with Yuki Tsukumo. She apologized for not acting sooner and made sure to deliver the other students back to school on her behalf. Yuki revealed her plans to confront Tengen and asked Yuji what he's going to do now. Without a clear answer to Yuki's question, Yuji remained in Shibuya away from everyone else.
While recalling all of this, Yuji sits on a staircase alone until Choso joins him and asks about the injuries sustained from all the fighting. All of Yuji's wounds are healed despite being hit by Mahito's Black Flash. He believes its because of Sukuna's growing strength.
Choso tells Yuji not to worry about him and to return to Jujutsu High. With hardly any relation to Choso, that's not what Yuji is worried about. Sukuna is plotting something with Megumi and he used Yuji's body to slaughter tons of people. Yuji no longer feels like he can remain with anyone after everything that's happened. .
Yuji asks Choso if he can even stay by his side after what happened with Eso and Kechizu. Choso believes that it was a misunderstanding between brothers and that Eso and Kechizu would understand if they were alive in his place. Yuji decides they should leave and use their abilities to clear out as many cursed spirits as possible.
Unbeknownst to the duo, Naoya Zenin and Yuta Okkotsu are on the move to Tokyo as well.[1]
Battle
Yuji claps loudly and the sound echoes throughout the abandoned Tokyo landscape. After nothing happens, Yuji patiently claps again and waits for a reaction. Just as he expected, large cursed spirits spring out of the bay behind the young sorcerer. Using himself as bait, Yuji immediately makes a mad dash down the road at top speed. The giant curses attack and crush the street behind Yuji in an attempt to smash him.
The ravaging curses desperation to catch Yuji causes more commotion and attracts more giant cursed spirits. As two flying curses are added to the pursuit behind him, Yuji notices a cyclops like curse trying to cut him off ahead. Yuji slides under the cyclops's legs to avoid it and continues down the street on foot.
Running at inhuman speeds, Yuji outpaces the growing swarm of cursed spirits as they leap under and over an elevated walkway that attaches two buildings. The cyclops tries to dive under the walkway and grab the sorcerer but it moves way too slow. After clearing a tight area between a few skyscrapers, Yuji quickly turns left and heads down beneath a bridge.
Yuji lures the curses beneath the bridge into a narrow space that perfectly lines them up Choso. The blood manipulator waits at the end of the road on the other side of the bridge and fires his Piercing Blood technique. The lightning-fast blood stream strikes through nearly every cursed spirit in one perfectly straight shot, exorcising all but one of them in an instant.
One of the flying curses was able to avoid the blood beam and comes out of the other side of the bridge, getting past Choso. Choso merely says Yuji's name and the young martial artist immediately lands a powerful flying left hook that smash's the curse's giant face into the side of the road.
Choso is impressed Yuji exorcised the curse in a single blow and notes how Yuji has added fluid control of his cursed energy to his superhuman strength. He was already impressed when they last fought, but Choso compares Yuji to a "demon god" now. Choso commends his younger brother but Yuji doesn't understand why he's still referring to him as a sibling. Choso firmly declares he will keep doing so until Yuji remembers that his father had stitches on their forehead.[2]
Aftermath
Yuji and Choso's conversation comes to an abrupt end when Naoya Zenin appears on the bridge above them. Scoping the area from a high viewpoint, Naoya was expecting Megumi to be around and is confused why he isn't. He also wonders why Yuji is drawing so much attention to himself after being sentenced to death. Yuji was unaware of the execution suspension being revoked until now. That makes sense to him and he accepts it because Takuma Ino predicted this would happen if Satoru Gojo was sealed.
Yuji ignores his own fate and asks Naoya what he wants with Megumi. To keep things simple, Naoya declares that Megumi must die for his own interests. This displeases Yuji, but he only glares for less than a moment as Naoya suddenly appears between he and Choso.
Naoya moves faster than the blink of an eye but Choso tries to counter right away. Naoya parries him and Yuji notes their new opponent's incredible speed. While re-directing Choso's attack with his left arm, Naoya uses his right to smack Yuji across the face with a quick chop. Choso attempts an uppercut after Yuji gets hit, but his attack is parried once again when Naoya's right elbow moves fast enough to intercept him.
Choso and Yuji both throw strikes at the same time but Naoya disappears completely before either of them can land. He appears on the road parallel to the duo. They notice something strange about Naoya's speed and guess it's granted to him by a cursed technique. Naoya admits he didn't expect much out of Sukuna's vessel and wonders who the person accompanying him is. Presented with a threat he didn't anticipate, Naoya boasts that he can up his peed if need be.
However, confrontation is interrupted when all three fighters are stricken by a dark new presence. The massive amounts of cursed energy reminds Yuji of Satoru Gojo but it comes off as even creepier. Yuji turns around to see Yuta Okkotsu looking down on them from above. Yuta expresses that he didn't expect Yuji not to be alone and prepares to unsheathe his executioner's blade.[3]
