Tsurugi Okkotsu (
Appearance
Tsurugi is a teenage boy of average height, with a slender yet distinctly muscular build. His spiky black hair dramatically juts outward towards the front, framing sharp, discerning gray eyes. His facial features bear a striking resemblance to members of the Zenin clan, particularly his grandmother, Maki, and cousin, Megumi.
Tsurugi's Jujutsu High uniform consists of a brown, high-collared jacket with a full-zip closure and three-quarter length sleeves, paired with matching trousers. Underneath his jacket, Tsurugi's torso and arms are heavily bandaged from his training. He completes his attire with sandals, and his most prominent accessory, aside from his cursed tool, is his grandfather's ring, which he wears suspended around his neck.
Personality
Tsurugi is a reserved, hardworking, and usually calm young man driven by a desire to prove his clan wrong. Similar to his grandmother, he is fiercely independent and wants to demonstrate his strength, believing he doesn't need Yuta's ring for protection. He's competitive with his sister Yuka and tends to be dismissive of others, preferring to act alone. Despite their frequent clashes, he shares a mutual understanding with Yuka, particularly concerning the ring, which he intends to return to her only after he proves to the Gojo clan that he doesn't require it.[2]
In contrast to his sister, Tsurugi tries to remain levelheaded and objective. This is seen when, after the human trafficker tells him about the arrival of aliens, Tsurugi is immediately cautious of Maru and takes the initiative to investigate on his own. Despite this, Tsurugi is demonstrably a lot more immature and rash than he wants to let on. As Yuka points out, Tsurugi is the type who wants other people to see him as cool. When he and Maru encounter Osada, Tsurugi immediately tries to use his fire-based Honoyagi despite being in a forest, not realizing how dangerous this is until Maru points it out.
Tsurugi veers on the side of caution when it comes to matters of ethics. When he and Maru discover that a local tiger, Toranosuke, has been attacking the villagers, Tsurugi decides that Toranosuke needs to be put down lest he create more victims, and Tsurugi doesn't change his mind even as Maru and Osada implore him to reconsider. That said, Tsurugi is by no means heartless. After he kills Toranosuke, Tsurugi discovers that he had a cub and chooses to let it live with Osada. Furthermore, despite his suspicions of Maru, Tsurugi genuinely comes to see the Simurian as a friend.
