Sukuna vs. Ryu Ishigori is a battle between special grade incarnated sorcerer, Sukuna, and the Culling Game Player, Ryu Ishigori. It occurred in the Sendai Colony when Sukuna first arrived there in search of Yorozu and Ryu provoked him into a fight.
Prologue
Sukuna emerges from the Bath ritual and asks his Kogane where Tsumiki Fushiguro is located. He learns Yorozu is in the Sendai Colony, prompting Uraume to ask why that area. Kenjaku assumes that because Yorozu is from Aizu, she likely chose the closest colony after visiting her home. Kenjaku expresses his surprise to learn that Sukuna would even entertain Yorozu despite their one-sided relationship. Sukuna explains that he doesn't care about Yorozu and the only thing that matters is her vessel. He wants to eliminate Tsumiki in order to completely crush any semblance of resistance from her Megumi.
"You gonna step aside or not?"
In exchange for Megumi's points, Kenjaku takes Sukuna to Sendai using a fish-like cursed spirit that swims through the air. Immediately upon arrival, Ryu Ishigori and Takako Uro are taken aback by the appearance of Sukuna's massive cursed energy. Neither of them can believe the scale of the power but Uro recognizes it as none other than the King of Curses.
Unable to resist the temptation of another possible round of dessert, Ryu confronts Sukuna directly. Despite his brash actions, Ryu's trademark confidence is replaced by an aura of uneasiness as a cold sweat runs down his face. Sukuna approaches Ryu without fear and asks if he's going to step aside.[1]
Battle
Ryu slashed by Sukuna before he can make a move.
Ryu attempts to engage in hand-to-hand combat with a quick jab to Sukuna's face. However, Ryu is slashed diagonally across his torso by Sukuna's innate technique. This sends Ryu sliding back before he got anywhere close to landing a hit. Amused, Sukuna reveals that he meant to fillet Ryu into three pieces. He commends Ryu for surviving, apologizes for underestimating him, and says he won't hold back anymore.
Still nervous and uneasy, Ryu remains completely silent as more sweat pours down his face. He attempts to dash backward to gain some distance from his opponent to charge up Granite Blast. Suddenly, Sukuna completely blitzes Ryu, passing right by him with immense speed. Sukuna dissects Ryu's head into three pieces, effortlessly killing him in a second.[2]
Aftermath
Sukuna finds Yorozu waiting for him in the same stadium where Yuta Okkotsu killed Dhruv Lakdawalla. Yorozu notes how Sukuna has switched vessels and he confirms, expressing that he likes his new face more.[3]
