Berserk (
Summary
An unconscious Maru battles Masaki Takeda and overpowers the elderly curse user with his unusual cursed technique!
Plot Details
Masaki is distracted by the floating debris when Maru suddenly appears behind him, confusing both him and the onlooking Tsurugi. Maru's third eye glances briefly at Tsurugi before returning its gaze to Masaki, activating an ability that mentally disorients the curse user. Masaki stabs his left hand with a needle to stay conscious but fails to maintain control over his shikigami. Maru hurls a rock at him; Masaki tries to intercept it with a needle, only for the rock's trajectory to shift midair and strike him. Pressing the advantage, Maru relentlessly pursues and attacks Masaki, driving him into the school's gymnasium.
Meanwhile, Cross observes the fight from atop a nearby building. He scolds his brother for losing control but chooses not to intervene, hoping Maru's rampage will trigger a war between Simurians and humans. Confident that Dabura's power ensures their victory, he watches as the battle unfolds. Inside the gym, sports balls levitate and electronic equipment malfunctions, which Masaki attributes to Maru's cursed technique. Masaki recalls his past defeat at Yuji Itadori's hands before resuming his brawl with Maru. In mere seconds, Maru completely overwhelms him with blinding speed and strength, pummeling the curse user before sending him crashing through the gym wall and into the outdoor swimming pool.
As Maru approaches, the pool water suddenly turns scalding hot, forcing Masaki to leap out just before it explodes. Maru seizes the moment, raising and gripping his left hand to freeze the airborne water around Masaki, trapping him midair in solid ice. Masaki realizes Maru's cursed technique distorts the natural laws of order. Before Maru can deliver the finishing blow, Tsurugi intercepts his punch with Honoyagi, though the sheer impact blasts both Tsurugi and Masaki away.
Still wounded, Tsurugi notices that Maru is fighting entirely while unconscious. Watching from above, Cross considers the development ideal: Maru injuring or killing Tsurugi, an innocent human, would provide a stronger justification for war than the death of a criminal like Masaki. Tsurugi, realizing the same, refuses to let Maru become the spark that ignites the conflict. He attempts to wake up Maru, only to be subjected to the mental confusion ability. As Tsurugi struggles against Maru's psychic attack, he reminds Maru that they were going to be "neighbors." The word moves Cross, who finally intervenes and calms Maru. As both Maru and Tsurugi collapse, an exasperated Cross wonders why Tsurugi's words affected him.

My handwriting is so bad that sometimes in the storyboards the word Cross looks like Warosu. | |
