Senility ( (ろう) (もう) Rōmō?) is the fifth chapter of Gege Akutami's and Yuji Iwasaki's Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.

Summary

An elderly, yet adept curse user battles Tsurugi and Yuka. Just as he defeats the siblings, the unconscious Maru suddenly opens his third eye!

Plot Details

A young girl calls for her mother while she is on a work call. Irritated, the mother walks into her daughter's room and demands to know what's wrong. The girl looks equally confused, staring at the water that was once in her cup, now floating in the air before her.

Meanwhile, Tsurugi's battle with Masaki Takeda rages across a rooftop. Worried about Maru's condition, Tsurugi wants to check on him, but the curse user's unexpected skill keeps him occupied. Masaki and his shikigami's combined assault overwhelms Tsurugi, wounding him in the head. During a brief respite, Tsurugi asks if Masaki ever considered using his powers for good. Masaki admits he once did but claims that such notions only belong to the young. He believes that, after a certain point, saving a life feels no different from taking one, though some emotions always remain vivid no matter how often they're felt. He confesses that he fell in love with the feelings, memories, and scenery of being a first grader and wishes to stay one forever. When he begins repeating himself, Tsurugi realizes that the root of the entire incident stems from Masaki's senility.

The fight intensifies as Tsurugi opens a Simple Domain and activates Maculation. With this technique, he gains the upper hand, countering Masaki and his shikigami's coordinated attacks before striking the curse user hard enough to send him crashing back into Shuei Elementary below. Suddenly, a curtain manifests over the school, trapping Masaki inside. Yuka arrives and ambushes the curse user from behind with Biting Twist, dealing critical damage. After Tsurugi quickly explains Masaki's abilities, the siblings join forces. Their seamless teamwork overwhelms both Masaki and his shikigami, defeating them in tandem.

As the battle ends, Yuka pants heavily, prompting concern from Tsurugi. Suddenly, Masaki emerges from within his shikigami and ambushes them, launching a needle through Yuka's shoulder to incapacitate her. Before Tsurugi can react, two more needles pierce his side, immobilizing him as well. Masaki explains that his cursed technique, Marmalade Boy, allows him to transform anything using human skin as fabric, including himself and his guardian spirit's body, revealing that the siblings had been fighting a part of the shikigami disguised with his skin all along. As Masaki prepares to finish Tsurugi, rubble begins to rise around him. Back at Masaki's house, Maru's third eye opens as debris floats into the air.

I’m a leather lover, so I understand. Those school backpacks are amazing. (This is off topic.)
