Maki Zenin vs. Ogi Zenin is a battle fought by Tokyo Jujutsu High second-year student Maki Zenin against her father, special grade 1 sorcerer of the Zenin Clan, Ogi Zenin. It takes place in the Cursed Warehouse and the Disciplinary Chamber of the Zenin Household when Ogi Zenin attempts to execute both of his own twin daughters.
Prologue
With permission from the clan head, Maki enters the Zenin's cursed warehouse.
Maki returns to the Zenin Family estate to collect cursed tools with permission from the new head, Megumi Fushiguro. On the way, she's harassed by Naoya and then her own mother, but Maki ignores them both and persists on to the warehouse.
Maki uses a key to open a complex lock mechanism and gain entry to the Zenin Family's cursed warehouse. However, Maki is surprised to see it has been completely emptied out of all weapons. Only Ogi Zenin is inside with a heavily injured Mai lying in her own blood behind him. Ogi anticipated Maki's moves and emptied the place of all cursed tools before she got here and slashed Mai himself, leaving her alive to only serve as an emergency hostage.
"We must execute Megumi, Maki and Mai as rebels plotting to free Satoru Gojo."
Unbeknownst to the Maki, the upper echelon of the Zenin clan is conspiring against Megumi. While a good number of people within the clan back Megumi because he shares a good relationship with major members of the Gojo and Kamo Clan, others like Jinichi and Ogi can't accept leaving the family fortune to him. They can't hastily murder Megumi without a good reason so instead, they're going to take advantage of the notice from Jujutsu Headquarters. Freeing Satoru Gojo is a criminal act, so the Zenin clan will attempt to execute Megumi, Mai, and Maki under the front of them being rebels trying to do so.
Jinichi explains all of this to Naoya while Ogi faces off with Maki. Naoya was left in the dark initially because he tends to be far too reckless. Killing one's daughter would boost credibility with the higher-ups. Not only is Ogi okay with this, but it was also his idea.[1]
Battle

Ogi takes his swordsmanship stance as if to engage in a single-strike duel. He activates Falling Blossom Emotion in its offensive form, planning to end the fight in a single mighty blow.
Maki unveils Juzo Kumiya's masterpiece: Dragon-Bone, a cursed tool capable of accumulating force and cursed energy before ejecting them out of the back of the blade. She plans to feign engaging in the single-strike duel while fully intending to strike a second or third time.
Maki uses Dragon-Bone's special ability to break her father's katana.
Maki's father asks her why he was not made head of the clan over Naobito, to which she simply mocks him in response. Ogi draws his katana with great speed and Maki flips Dragon-Bone into reverse grip at the same time. Maki is able to block Ogi's sword slash with her weapon's blade pointed downward. She quickly flips it back to a traditional kendo grip with two hands as her father turns around to attempt a parry. Cursed energy erupts from the back of Dragon-Bone, propelling Maki's slash forward with such great force that it breaks Ogi's katana.
While Ogi appears stunned, Maki attempts to take advantage and rushes behind her father, getting in close to deliver an upward slash from behind. The special grade 1 sorcerer reinforces his muscles and spins around to counter his daughter with incredible speed. Before Maki can finish her attack, Ogi turns around completely and slashes her. She suffers a devastating blow that slices her right eye and the side of her abdomen, spilling out some of her guts.
Ogi cuts down Maki in a surprise counterattack.
As she collapses to the ground from her grievous injuries, Maki is confused about how she's been slashed when the blade of the katana broke. However, the blade has been replaced by flames that can imitate the katana. While crying from the shame of not becoming the head of the clan, Ogi reveals the reason Naobito was chosen over him was that the twins are worthless.[2]
Appearing victorious, Ogi drags his twin girls' bleeding bodies to a chamber meant for discipline and training. He mocks Maki for foolishly getting in too close after thinking she had disarmed her opponent. She shouldn't have thought of her adversary as a swordsman when Ogi is a sorcerer first. After once again stating that he has been held back by his worthless children, Ogi leaves Maki and Mai to be devoured by the numerous grade 2 and below cursed spirits being kept in the chamber.
Mai sacrifices herself to ensure that Maki survives and reaches her full potential.
Mai doesn't give up on Maki and notices she still has a pulse. She resuscitates her sister and meets her in a dream space to say one last farewell. On a beach, Mai explains that she's going to use her Construction technique to leave her twin one last thing before dying from the strain. Twins are inauspicious for sorcerers because they're treated as one person in jujutsu. By sacrificing herself, Mai can take away all of Maki's cursed energy to greatly improve her heavenly restriction and reach her full potential. In return, Mai only asks that her big sister "destroy everything".
Maki's new power reminds Ogi of his fear of Toji.
Mai tragically dies after constructing a sword for her sister. Maki is distraught and deeply added by Mai's sacrifice, but she exorcises all the curses surrounding them within just a few seconds. Having hardly gotten any distance from the chamber, Ogi stops and turns around after noticing all the cursed spirits are gone. He notices Maki taking Mai's body out of the room and his body is suddenly overcome with a familiar fear his mind has long tried to forget. In her highly improved state, Maki's presence reminds Ogi of another person gifted with heavenly restriction, Toji himself.
Maki bisects her cruel father's head, killing him with ease.
In response to the chills that were sent down his spine, Ogi activates Technique Release: Blazing Courage! He encircles himself in scorching flames and coats his broken katana in a blaze to an even greater degree than before. He threatens to burn his daughter to the bone with her very own hands while pointing his fiery blade at her. However, in the next moment, the top of Ogi's head is completely severed from the rest of his body. Maki blitzes past her father and effortlessly kills him with an attack he never saw coming.[3]
Aftermath
"Mai... let's get started."
Maki stops and takes moment to look down at the cursed tool Mai left behind for her. Ready to keep her promise, Maki tells Mai that it's time to get started.[4]
The rest of the clan members on the premises quickly learn of Ogi's demise. The alarm is sounded and Jinichi is informed by Ranta that Maki has "gone mad" and murdered Ogi. The Kukuru Unit is scrambled to apprehend her in response.[5]
