Kaichi (
Description
Takuma using Kaichi to dispatch a curse.
Kaichi takes the form of a light-colored cone-shaped horn marked with swirling designs of a darker tone. It is a projectile cloaked in cursed energy capable of homing in on its target. Kaichi flies through the air at great speed while leaving a trail of cursed energy behind it.
Acting as a homing missile, Kaichi can make sharp turns and will continue to pursue the user's target until it hits. The impact is capable of tearing off chunks of flesh that have been reinforced with cursed energy. The horn disappears after the initial hit but the Auspicious Beast can be re-summoned by the user later.[1]
Usage
Kaichi following Ogami and her grandson.
Takuma used Kaichi to exorcise a large curse during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. He also used this technique at the start of his fight with curse user Ogami and her grandson during the Shibuya Incident. He made the first move and launched Kaichi at the curse users. The grandson picked up Ogami and attempted to carry her away from danger. However, Kaichi pursued them and stayed hot on the man's trail. Left with no other choice, the grandson blocked the horn and willingly injured his forearm.
Takuma tried to finish Ogami off with Kaichi before she completed the incantation for her Séance Technique. He summoned the Auspicious Beast but the projectile was caught by the bare hands on the grandson, who was transformed by Ogami into Toji Zenin. [2]
Trivia
- Kaichi is a reference to the Japanese name of the Xièzhì, a creature from East Asian mythology. It could discern the innocent from the guilty, ramming the latter with its single horn, making further reference for Ino's technique design and homing abilities.
