Festering Life Sword (
Description
The Festering Life Sword is said to be an enchanted blade that mixes life and death. It is a short, thick, cleaver-like sword with a unique shape and a grotesque design appropriate for an insect to wield.[1] Its most prominent features are six distinct firing barrels on the front of the blade that can launch close-range projectiles at its target.
Even if the sword is blocked by an opponent's weapon, it's capable of shooting small eggs into the enemy's flesh to infect them. Shortly after being embedded into the target's skin, the eggs hatch, and small insect-like curses spawn from the wound. The same effect occurs if the blade slashes the target directly as well.[2]

The Festering Life Sword was wielded by Kurourushi, who could take the cursed tool directly out of its own body. It serves as Kurourushi's primary armament and helps to supplement the curse's mid-to-long ranged cursed techniques. Kurourushi armed itself with the blade at the start of its fight with Yuta Okkotsu and tried to open the bout with a slashing attack only for Yuta to disarm the curse immediately.[3]
Kurourushi retrieved the Festering Life Sword later on and used a combination of Earthen Insect Trance and a twister of cockroaches to create an opening for its next move with the cursed tool. Yuta still blocked the Festering Life Sword with his katana but he was shot in the shoulder by its projectiles, causing insect curses to burst out of the wound. Yuta figured the weapon could fire projectiles, but he wasn't expecting to be cursed with insects that further injured him.

Attempting to cut away the curses with his katana left Yuta open to getting cut across the abdomen by the Festering Life Sword, causing even more curses to spawn from his new wound. This greatly injured Yuta and observers of the battle actually believed it was enough to defeat the special grade sorcerer.[2]
Even after Kurourushi the player was exorcised, its offspring took up the Festering Life Sword. Kurourushi attacked Takako Uro with the blade while she couldn't defend herself with her cursed technique. The initial cut wasn't deep enough to cut off Uro's arm, but the insects that spawned from the wound severed her arm completely.[4]
