Plot Details
Yuji and Nobara continue their face off against Kechizu and Eso as Yuji tells Nobara not to let the blood touch her as Eso's Maximum: Wing King technique just barely misses Nobara. Eso tells the students to run with their back turned to him as they turn around to flee but the lines quickly catch up to the two. Yuji asks Nobara if she's able to run any quicker where she angrily says she's unable to as Yuji decides to pick her up and run quicker after she is nearly hit by the technique. Nobara tells Yuji that she's got his back just as Yuji goes through the nearby forest with extreme speed. He gets away by zig-zagging through the trees until they're out of range but Eso claims it's no matter while thinking to himself about how quick Yuji is despite carrying someone.
By using a more direct route, Kechizu manages to catch Yuji off guard and spits his dark blood all over him. Yuji manages to push Nobara out of harms away but the left side of his face is covered in the blood. Just as Nobara goes to try and help Yuji, she's suddenly struck by Eso's Wing King attack after he quickly catches up to them. Eso explains to the first-years how their blood is absorbed through wounds and membranes. He then says Kechizu's blood isn't as lethal as his and that even his own wouldn't be able to kill someone right away, he also includes that Yuji would be able to survive for about 15 more minutes while Nobara would have around 10 more minutes until morning where only bones will remain.
In a flashback, it is revealed how the Death Painting Wombs came to be. A woman who was capable of giving birth to human-spirit hybrids had ran off to a temple where Noritoshi Kamo controlled. Where he performed numerous experiments on the woman that resulted in her having nine pregnancies and nine abortions that lead to the creation of the nine Death Paintings. For 150 years, the Death Painting Wombs had no one to rely on other than each others existence. Choso explains to Eso and Kechizu how they are to side with the cursed spirits since the world they envisioned will suit the brothers more.
Nobara suddenly laughs and uses Straw Doll Technique: Resonance on herself to inflict harm to Eso and Kechizu, inviting them to play a game of chicken. She asks the spirits if it hurts and tells the cursed spirits to release their technique if the pain is too much for them. Eso thinks to himself about how Nobara's ability turns the curse on the user and wonders if he should release his technique. Nobara is thankful that her Resonance technique also works on Kechizu. Eso thinks to himself about how no matter how many times Nobara uses Resonance on them, they won't die and since his Decay technique is also still active, they won't be able to move. However, Yuji is unaffected because he's the vessel of Sukuna who's the King of Curses and has resistance to poison much to the surprise of Eso who is unable to do anything as Yuji plummets Kechizu with cursed energy infused punches.
When Yuji and Nobara trade places, Eso gets a glance at his younger brother and realizes that he's been grievously injured by Yuji's barrage of punches. Yuji starts attacking Eso who's able to block them and manages to send him flying who instinctively deactivated his technique. Eso activates Wing King again and forces Yuji back. Nobara doesn't even notice the aforementioned attack because she's too intently focused on trying to attack Kechizu. The pain from the deactivated technique has sharpened her focus, and before Wing King can reach her, Yuji lands in front of Eso and prepares to punch him. They both channel their energy to a millionth of a second and activate Black Flash! This sends an empowered nail clean through Kechizu's head and Yuji's punch blows off Eso's right arm off completely.
Distraught, Eso pleads for his younger brother to survive. As Nobara turns around, Kechizu makes the last ditch effort to try and take her life, attempting to devour her from behind. However, Nobara quickly snaps and activates Straw Doll Technique: Hairpin, detonating the nail in Kechizu's head, killing him instantly. Nobara assures the dead Kechizu that Eso will be joining him in the afterlife. Yuji moves to finish him off, but Eso sheds tears of affection for his lost brother, shocking the young sorcerer. Nobara also stops because she is surprised that Kechizu's body isn't disappearing, wondering if it's still alive. Both of them realize that the Death Paintings aren't just cursed spirits, they are flesh and blood.
Suddenly a pickup truck comes driving out of the tunnel and speeds through the road where the battle is taking place. Eso gets on the truck and takes one of the men aboard hostage, while also asking the driver to speed up, preventing Yuji from pursuing him. The Death Painting believes he will heal and return to get revenge on Nobara, however he notices her about to use her Straw Doll Technique on his severed arm and wonders what she's doing. Nobara activates Resonance again, but this time it deals a greater wound to Eso's chest, stabbing two black nails outward. He collapses and falls forward from the truck as Yuji rushes toward him. Yuji apologizes before dealing the final punch clean through Eso's chest. After the Death Paintings have been killed and defeated, Yuji notices his hand burning from Eso's blood. He comments that it hurts, but it's likely not just because of the blood.
Elsewhere, Choso senses the death of his brothers and breaks one of the board game pieces much to the disappointment of Mahito. Geto is surprised that Choso can tell while Mahito goes to look for another game piece. When Geto confirms that both Eso and Kechizu were killed by Yuji, and his classmates, Mahito smiles upon hearing of this.
Back at Yasohachi Bridge, Akari is trying to contact the first-years but none of them answer her phone calls much to her annoyance. She then drives off to look for them.
In the aftermath of the battle, Yuji and Nobara are walking through the forest and talks about the Death Painting Wombs. Yuji checks to make sure Nobara is alright. She replies that she's fine despite her scarred left arm and the possibility of poison flowing through her body. She wonders if Shoko will be awake and sober to heal her and then notices Yuji is acting weird. Yuji asks if this is the first time Nobara has killed someone instead of exorcising them. Yuji has once before with the transfigured humans but Nobara doesn't really have a problem with it.
The two then arrive underneath the bridge and find Megumi unconscious, which worries them. When Megumi suddenly wakes up and expresses his gratitude that they're okay. Relieved, Yuji and Nobara both yell at Megumi for scaring them. He was lying down with a finger which needs to be sealed as soon as possible. Nobara plans on calling Akari and Yuji offers to eat the finger but Megumi is against it as they aren't sure how much fingers Yuji can take in. Megumi then hands Yuji the finger to hold onto because he has the most energy but Sukuna makes a mouth on Yuji's palm which Megumi and Nobara promptly yell at Yuji. Up on the bridge, Akari arrives and yells at the three who ignore her much to Akari's annoyance.
Two days later, Gojo talks on the phone with Utahime to check on the status of the mole while bragging about the success of his students. Utahime reports that she isn't able to find any leads outside the students and will continue to look into it. Gojo turns to Mei Mei for another matter and sends her ten million yen which she receives and happily laughs out loud.
Megumi tells Nobara that Sukuna's incarnation triggered the Yasohachi Bridge curse and asks that she shouldn't tell Yuji about it. At the same time Sukuna taunts Yuji for causing all those deaths where Yuji tells Sukuna never to tell Megumi.
Back at Tokyo Jujutsu High, Maki and Panda are training while Toge sits and watches them. Panda sits down and asks the two if they are aware of what happened with the first-years, which Maki confirms. Maki stands back up and suddenly launches herself to attack the unsuspecting Panda who is surprised.
Aoi Todo and Mei Mei reunite with the Kyoto High Principal. Gakuganji states that special grades are anomalies among jujutsu sorcerers and grade 1 sorcerers are those who uphold the standards of the strongest sorcerers. The level of danger involved on mission and the compensation is far greater than any rank below it, including even semi-grade 1. With that in mind, Gakuganji asks for Aoi and Mei's request. They both put in a recommendation for Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Maki, and Panda to be promoted to grade 1 sorcerers.
Yuji is out shopping with Nobara and Megumi when he accidentally drops something much to Nobara's annoyance. Nobara yells at Yuji who quickly apologizes while Megumi turns around in embarrassment but is suddenly contacted by Gojo sensei. Megumi informs Yuji and Nobara that they are to meet up with Gojo for a top secret mission.
