Plot Details

Yuki Tsukumo greets Aoi Todo (Anime)

"What kind of girls do you like?"

Back in the third grade of elementary school, Aoi Todo beat up a high schooler and sat on him, claiming that life was boring. Soon after, a woman with a curse circling around her calls out to Aoi, asking what type of women is his type. Upon meeting her, Aoi had a feeling that his life wasn't going to be as boring.

Back in the present, Aoi and Yuji continues to face off against the special grade cursed spirit, Hanami. Todo asks for Yuji to trust him as he analyzes the opponents techniques, coming to the conclusion of their victory. Just as Yuji and Aoi rush towards Hanami, Aoi's foot is caught by Hanami's roots and flung to a series of spikes that Hanami created. Yuji tries to go and save Aoi but Hanami engages him in combat instead. Just as Hanami claims that one is down, Aoi activates his Innate Technique: Boogie Woogie! Hanami is the one who's pierced by the spikes instead of Aoi.

Aoi using Boogie Woogie to overwhelm Hanami (Anime)

Aoi Todo's cursed technique overwhelms the special grade.

Yuji is shocked to see Aoi next to him as Hanami recovers and says his technique is a simple one which means it's troublesome. The duo rushes in to attack Hanami with Todo activating Boogie Woogie multiple times to switch his and Yuji's location. With both of them sending a barrage of punches at Hanami, who's unable to break out of it. Under the belief that Todo will use his Innate Technique again, the special grade is instead hit with four consecutive Black Flash strikes from Yuji.

Aoi and Yuji continue to fight the special grade. Aoi uses his technique to swap locations with Hanami who faces off against Yuji, which both manages to land a punch on each other. Yuji thinks to himself about how the special grade is getting used to Todo's technique. The four consecutive Black Flash strikes on Hanami weakened the latter which Aoi thinks to himself on how they can exorcise it. Aoi switches Hanami's location with Yuji via, Boogie Woogie and protects Yuji from being harmed by the Cursed Buds. Takada-chan suddenly appears and talks to Todo about Megumi's injuries from the Cursed Bud, Aoi thinks back on this and deactivates his cursed energy barrier, shocking Hanami. Aoi says to himself about how he needs to thank Takada-chan for helping him during the next national handshake event.

Aoi Todo hits Hanami with Playful Cloud (Anime)

Aoi Todo hits Hanami with Playful Cloud.

The duo continues to push the special grade back to where their battle first started out at the river. There, Aoi recalls Megumi telling him about Maki's special grade cursed tool: Playful Cloud laying in the river bed and also how the trees on Hanami's face are his weak spots. Todo switches Yuji out for the special grade cursed tool: Playful Cloud! Hanami absorbs the nearby plants life force in exchange for converting it into cursed energy onto the flower bud on his left shoulder. Yuji runs over and Aoi tells him to stop moving, just then as Hanami is about to activate his Domain Expansion. The curtain above them disappears and Gojo is revealed to be floating above the battlefield.

Elsewhere, Gakuganji continues to face off against the curse user, Juzo Kumiya. Sending a blast of sound waves at Juzo, he determines that Gakuganji is an effective midrange attacker and is keeping him from going closer. Utahime is seen running while on the phone before another curse user, Haruta Shigemo attacks her from behind. Just as Haruta asks what will Utahime give him, Nobara and Mai show up to assist Utahime. Much to the excitement of Haruta, he claims he's popular because of how much girls there are. The curtain above them suddenly disappears and Haruta states it hasn't even been 30 minutes and immediately runs away.

Hollow Purple (Anime)

Hollow Purple

Back at the battle between Aoi Todo and Yuji Itadori against Hanami, Yuji is shocked to see Gojo sensei floating above the battlefield who takes notice of Yuji's growth, as having Aoi work with Yuji makes sense, he figures they'll be okay for a while. Gojo instead confronts Juzo as Gakuganji yells at him not to kill Juzo, severing his limbs instantly. He tells Gankuganji to get Juzo healed up for interrogation and notices that the curse user that was facing off against Utahime has fled and Hanami would most likely follow suit. Yuji tries pursue Hanami but Aoi yells at him to stop, as he's worried his new best friend would be turned to collateral damage. Gojo decides to go crazy and combines, Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue and Cursed Technique Reversal: Red together, resulting in Hollow Purple! The fissure caused from Hollow Purple leaves Aoi unable to tell if the curse was exorcised.

Meanwhile, Mahito manages to steal Cursed Womb: Death Painting 1-3, along with a single Sukuna finger. He wonders if Hanami is okay as two murdered members of the school's staff lay on his way out, stating that his mission has been completed.
