Earthen Insect Trance (土 (ど) 虫 (ちゅう) 蠕 (ぜん) 定 (じょう) , Dochū Zenjō^?) is an extension technique derived from Kurourushi's ability to manipulate insect curses.

Description

By chanting blinding several times while focusing their cursed energy with a hand sign, the user of Earthen Insect Trance can conjure small flying curses that carry relatively large nutshell-like pouches between their legs. When pierced, the curses release a liquid from these sacks that impair the vision of whoever stuck them.

Usage

Kurourushi used Earthen Insect Trance in its fight with Yuta Okkotsu in order to help it strike him with the Festering Life Sword. Yuta foiled Kurourushi's first attempt to use the cursed tool against him, so it adapted by using Earthen Insect Trance to properly create an opening.

The cockroach curse activated Earthen Insect Trance while standing atop a twisting swarm of cockroaches. Kurourushi used the twister as a diversion to get the conjured earthen insects behind Yuta. The sorcerer sliced them both apart with his katana but the liquid substance that came out of their bodies blinded him for a moment, allowing Kurourushi to close the distance and attack with the Festering Life Sword.
