Cursed Technique Reversal: Red (
Description
The reverse Limitless technique is powered by positive energy generated from reverse cursed technique as opposed to negative cursed energy. This reverses the effect of the strengthened Limitless, representing the concept of divergence brought into reality, producing a strong repelling effect rather than an attractive one.
The technique manifests as a vibrant red orb that explodes with massive repulsive force. The user fires it away from themselves to create a shockwave that blasts away everything in range.[1][2] The cursed energy output from Red is at least twice that of the strengthened Limitless, Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue.[3]
Throughout its history, Red has been notoriously difficult for inheritors of the Limitless to use, even Satoru Gojo. This is mainly because the ability to use reverse cursed technique is extremely rare and complicated to achieve, unbiased even to the Big Three Families.[4]
Usage

Satoru Gojo unleashing Red for the first time.
Satoru Gojo was considered a prodigy from birth, special even for a bearer of the Six Eyes. However, even he struggled to figure out how to use reverse cursed technique as a second-year at Jujutsu High. He tried unleashing it on a whim while escorting the Star Plasma Vessel but it didn't work.[5]
Satoru only unlocked the ability to use reverse cursed technique after surviving his near-death encounter with Toji Fushiguro. He discovered the core of cursed energy and learned to pour positive energy into his Limitless technique. This allowed him to successfully utilize Red in his rematch with Toji, blasting him a great distance away with a powerful wave of positive energy.[6]

Satoru using his mastery over Red to casually overkill a curse.
Following this major event in Satoru's life, he mastered the Limitless and learned how to set reverse cursed technique rejuvenating his body around the clock. With such precision over each aspect of the Limitless, Satoru can unleash Red at will without any repercussions to his stamina or cursed energy reserves.[7]

Satoru hitting Sukuna with Red after restoring his exhausted technique.
When Satoru got irritated during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, he annihilated a giant cursed spirit with one shot from Red.[8] He also casually used it on Jogo to display the massive difference between their strength. He did so after divulging how the Limitless works, increasing the power of the cursed technique reversal. The bright red blast dealt moderate damage to Jogo before Satoru capitalized with a flurry of additional attacks.[9]

Satoru delays the explosion until Red circles around to Sukuna's flank.
Satoru reliably deployed Red as a powerful weapon throughout his climactic showdown with Sukuna. He hit Sukuna with it at point-blank range after recovering his exhausted technique with reverse cursed technique. Red blasted Sukuna into his shrine and burned off half his face, giving Satoru the time needed to heal his wounds.[10]
When Mahoraga first confronted Satoru, he prepared to destroy the shikigami in one hit from Red before it shattered his domain.[11] Satoru showed great precision control over Red when he displayed the ability to delay its eruption. Satoru convinced Sukuna he would only use Blue while Mahoraga was adapting to the Limitless, allowing him to time an opening to blast Sukuna with Red. Sukuna withstood the initial strike using domain amplification. However, using the layout of the building, Red circled the area and flanked Sukuna, striking him in the back before it exploded. Satoru capitalized by landing a direct hit on Sukuna with Black Flash.[12]

Satoru improvising combining Red and Blue externally.
Satoru's cursed energy output fell after Mahoraga injured him and he recited the activation incantation for Red to recover it. Initially aimed at Mahoraga, Satoru used Red to blast Sukuna out of his shadow after the latter used Rabbit Escape to cover Mahoraga. He used it again while Sukuna, Mahoraga, and Merged Beast Agito attacked him three-on-one. He blasted Mahoraga with it at point-blank range without the incantation and did hardly any damage. Red was ineffective not only due to Satoru's low output but also because Mahoraga had already begun gradually adapting to it.[13]
Landing consecutive Black Flashes recovered Satoru's output and he used that to unleash Red one final time. The orb of Blue that crushed Agito remained in the area and by firing Red into it, Satoru created an unlimited Hollow Purple that carved through Shinjuku with a massive explosion.[14]
Trivia
- The incantation for activating this technique is "Phase." "Pāramitā." "Pillar of Light." (〝
位 相 〟〝波 羅 蜜 〟〝光 の柱 〟 "Isō" "Haramitsu" "Hikari no Hashira"?).[15]
