Copy (
Description

Rika devouring Takako Uro's arm...
Copy allows the user to utilize an innate technique after Rika consumes part of its original user's body.[1][2] Depending on the strength of the cursed technique and the number of times the user wishes to use it, the amount and part of the body changes. Therefore, a strong technique requires a more vital part of the target's body in order to be copied, though the user can circumvent this by placing a binding vow on the number of uses for the technique. When copying a technique from a target that can use reverse cursed technique, if the consumed part is regenerated by the target, the value of the body part is lost and cease to satisfy the condition of copying it, preventing the user from using the technique.[3]
After consumption, the cursed technique is stored within Rika and can only be accessed by the user when she is fully manifested[4] or through domain expansion.[5] Having Rika function as an external storage for cursed techniques is necessary, as the user's brain would be overloaded by the multiple techniques otherwise.[6] Once accessed, the user is able to fully use the innate technique's capabilities as well as any of its extension techniques.

...allows Yuta to use her innate technique.
The main strength of Copy lies in the wide variety of abilities at the user's disposal. Using a copied technique, the user essentially possesses the same advantages and disadvantages of the original user they copied it from, although their ability to swap between techniques makes them a more versatile and unpredictable opponent to deal with.
The nature of Copy causes the user's opponents to focus more on their stockpiled techniques, making them less wary of the techniques' original users. Those who are informed of Copy's conditions especially have the preconceived notion that the user stole the cursed techniques rather than copying them. As a result, when a technique's original user assists the user during a fight, the opponent is usually caught off-guard. Yuta believes this is the true strength of Copy.[7]

Yuta counters Ryu Ishigori's Cursed Energy Discharge with Uro's technique.
The effects of the copied cursed techniques will continue to remain active even if the user switches out the technique. For example, after commanding Sukuna to not move with Cursed Speech, Yuta switched to Takako Uro's technique and struck him with Thin Ice Breaker while he was paralyzed.[8]
Copy is heavily restricted by its accessibility. While the user can copy a technique, they cannot access it unless Rika is fully manifested or they are within their domain. Both conditions are restrictive in their own ways, with Rika's complete manifestation only lasting five minutes at a time,[4] and a domain expansion expending immense amounts of cursed energy and also having the risk of cursed technique burn-out afterwards.
Furthermore, the user's own cursed energy output can also limit a copied technique's effectiveness. For example, while Sukuna's Cleave was able to cut apart Ryu Ishigori's head despite the latter's immense cursed energy reinforcement,[9] Yuta's copied Cleave was only able to deal minor injuries to Sukuna's face after cutting it.[10]
Domain Expansion
- Main Article: Authentic Mutual Love
This Domain Expansion conjures a field of cross-like structures littered with countless katanas and encircled by ropes tied together in a fashion symbolic of love.[11] Yuta can wield any of the katanas and activate copied cursed techniques without any restrictions. A copied cursed technique also serves as the sure-hit effect of the domain.[5]
Usage

Rika summons a Cursed Speech megaphone.
As early as his first year at Jujutsu High, Yuta had awakened his innate technique. Through unknown methods, he replicated Toge Inumaki's Cursed Speech and had the technique stored within Rika Orimoto, the cursed spirit born from his deceased childhood friend. During his showdown against Suguru Geto, a fully manifested Rika allowed Yuta to perform cursed speech by manifesting a megaphone with the Snake Eyes and Fangs sigil for him to use, destroying several weaker cursed spirits within Geto's arsenal.[12]
Despite Orimoto's soul being released from Yuta's curse after the events of the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons,[13] she left behind a vestige of herself known as Rika that continued to protect and assist Yuta.[14] This cursed spirit retains the original cursed Rika's skillset and functions as an external storage for Yuta's copied techniques.
While participating in the Culling Game, Yuta entered the Sendai Colony and engaged the powerful players within it, effortlessly defeating the top-scoring ancient sorcerer Dhruv Lakdawalla[15] and copying his technique. During the three-way battle between him, Ryu Ishigori, and Takako Uro, Yuta revealed the true nature of his technique by fully manifesting Rika to access his copied techniques, immobilizing Uro with cursed speech before further injuring her with Dhruv's technique, the latter which caught her off-guard since she assumed he was a cursed speech and shikigami user.[16]

Yuta hits Ryu with his copied technique.
Copy's unpredictability came into play again during Yuta's duel with Ryu. Ishigori, who also assumed Yuta was a cursed speech user with shikigami jutsu, attempted to finish him off while his technique was still replenishing after using domain expansion. However, Yuta's cursed technique had already replenished. By exploiting Ryu's assumption, Yuta manifested Uro's technique and redirected Ryu's Granite Blast into the air, having fulfilled the conditions when Rika ate Uro's arm.[17] Ryu was similarly caught off-guard by the revelation of Yuta's true technique, allowing the latter to hit him with Thin Ice Breaker, critically damaging him.[18]
At some point after freeing Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm, Yuta had Rika consume Yuji's left ring finger, thus copying the King of Curses' Shrine technique for Yuta.[19] During the month of preparation, Yuta also copied the Angel's Technique Extinguishment for the sorcerers' plan to free Megumi Fushiguro from Sukuna's control,[20] and Charles Bernard's G Warstaff.[21] Yuta made use of his full arsenal of techniques during his three-on-one fight against Sukuna within his domain. Even a highly experienced sorcerer such as the King of Curses found it difficult to adapt to Yuta's wide range of techniques, leaving openings whenever Yuta used a new one against him that left him vulnerable.[22]

Yuta inside of Gojo's body.
As part of his last resort in case Gojo loses to Sukuna and dies, and he is unable to defeat Sukuna in his domain, Yuta planned to have Rika consume Kenjaku's body and copy his technique that allows him to swap his brain with others. Copying this technique would allow him to transplant his own brain into Gojo's body and reanimate his sensei to fight Sukuna again.[23] This plan ultimately came into fruition when Kenjaku's fight with Fumihiko Takaba let Yuta catch him off-guard and decapitate him, allowing him to copy his technique soon afterwards.[24] After being cut in half by Sukuna, Yuta performed the brain transplant technique with the assistance of Shoko Ieiri, Arata Nitta, and Rin Amai, allowing him to return to the battlefield in Gojo's body.[25]
