Construction (
Description[]
Construction, as the name implies, allows the user to conjure an object from nothing. Unlike objects created within a domain, anything constructed will remain even after the technique is completed. However, this uses a large amount of cursed energy ineffeciently, which can result in harsh backlash on the user's body.[1][2]
Domain Expansion[]
- Main Article: Threefold Affliction
This Domain Expansion's environment takes the form of an empty space with several oversized, organic structures floating within it that resemble the disembodied brains and ventral nerve cords of insects. The sure-hit effect of the domain applies to the user's constructed items.[3]
Usage[]
Mai Zenin[]
Mai developed this technique and hid it from her twin sister, Maki during their upbringing. She used a revolver in battle, so after shooting six shots against Maki it appeared that she had ran out of bullets. However, Construction allowed her to create and load another cursed energy charged bullet into her revolver. This surprise attack was meant to take her opponent off guard and finish the fight.[4]
Mai's limit was one bullet per day, but this drained what little cursed energy she possessed, resulting in physical backlash such as a nose bleed.[1] After being cut open by her own father, Mai decided to use Construction to give her sister Maki a fighting chance. Mai was aware the backlash would kill her, but she used that opportunity to take away all the cursed energy between the twins with her. Mai sacrificed her life to give Maki a body of steel that has escaped from cursed energy by utilizing Construction to create a large broadsword.[5]
Yorozu[]
Much like with Mai, Yorozu’s innate technique allowed her to create any matter by using her cursed energy as long as she has some understanding and information on whatever matter she desires to create. This allowed her to make creations that combined properties of various different elements and materials.[6]
Unfortunately, the cursed energy efficiency of her technique was severely lacking despite her own cursed energy output being on par with the toughest fighters of the Heian period. This caused Yorozu to feel great frustration as she tirelessly researched to resolve this problem.[7]
Eventually, Yorozu slowly started to get a hint to solving her technique’s weakness. Realizing the energy efficiency of an insect’s body, Yorozu came to believe that creating an armor that incorporated physical aspects of various insects more than resolved the energy inefficiency of construction. This allowed her to fight on par with and overpower some of the most powerful jujutsu sorcerers of the Heian period, granting her acknowledgement by the Fujiwara Clan.[8]
Yorozu's control over Construction was exceptionally proficient. She was capable of creating a perfect sphere, a feat thought to be impossible. She was skilled enough with her technique that she was able to perform Domain Expansion.[9]
