Comedian (
Description[]
This technique allows the user to manifest whatever they think is funny into reality. The effects of this technique cover a wide variety, including but not being limited to: conjuring objects or substances from nothing,[2][3] healing themselves without the use of Reverse Cursed Technique,[4] nullifying damage done to them,[5] or simulating imaginary scenarios in reality.[6]
Despite the extraordinary power granted by this technique, Comedian can only be activated if the user remains confident and certain in their ability to be funny. As a result, if the user loses confidence in their humor, the technique will be deactivated and render them vulnerable to attacks.[7]
Usage[]
Fumihiko Takaba first showcased his innate technique by subtly healing the wounds he suffered from Iori Hazenoki's innate technique. Despite the severe bleeding from his head caused by Iori's explosive tooth, his wounds were shown to have completely healed seconds later.[8]
He further showcased the capabilities of his innate technique by conjuring a paper fan and using it to swat away Iori's explosive eyeball during his first exchange with the sorcerer.[2]
Near the end of their fight, Fumihiko used his innate technique once again to cover himself in ankake sauce, causing Iori's punch to slide off of him.[3] A frustrated Iori notes how Fumihiko should have died five times from his explosions already, but he seemingly suffered no injuries without using reverse cursed technique.[4]
It is suggested by Angel that Hana Kurusu surviving her injuries caused by Sukuna could have been due to Fumihiko being nearby when she was injured.[9]
When Fumihiko was sent to battle Kenjaku, he used his innate technique to nullify the damage done to him by Kenjaku's cursed spirits. Kenjaku felt as if his attack hit Fumihiko, but had no effect.[5]
Fumihiko continued to use his technique during his fight against Kenjaku to protect himself as well as mock Kenjaku by manifesting clothing items on him or making words appear on his face.[10] However, the ancient sorcerer quickly discerned the weaknesses of the technique after a conversation about comedy with Fumihiko. After criticizing Fumihiko's joke and making him lose confidence, Kenjaku was able to land a strong elbow strike on Fumihiko's stomach that finally managed to damage the comedian.[11]
After regaining his confidence, Fumihiko reactivated his technique and increased its capabilities to greater heights by manifesting imaginary scenarios into reality and having Kenjaku partake in them. This includes exorcising the special grade rebel spirit Akuro-o Otake by running it over with a truck, transporting himself and Kenjaku into various simulated locations, and manifesting humans that are capable of speech and movement.[6]
