Chojuro Zenin (禪院 (ぜんいん) (ちょう) 寿郎 (じゅろう) Zen'in Chōjurō?) is a character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He was a member of the Zenin Family and it's elite unit of jujutsu sorcerers, the Hei.

Appearance

Chojuro is an old, short man. He has his hair done in a mohawk. Chojuro's natural expression has him grinning with his eyes closed.

Personality

While Chojuro didn't show his personality explicitly, it could be argued that he is a self-assured person. Chojuro's grin also suggests that he thinks little of his opponents, probably relating to his confidence in his fighting capabilities.

Synopsis

Perfect Preparation Arc

Chojuro is with Jinichi and Ranta Zenin after he uses his innate technique to trap Maki within two rock hands. However, Maki is able to break out of the technique and briefly fights Maki alongside Nobuaki Zenin.[1] Despite their efforts, Maki rips out their throats and Chojuro is killed by said attack along with Nobuaki.[2]

Abilities and Powers

Overall Skill: As a member of the Hei, the Zenin Family's strongest team of sorcerers, Chojuro was at least of semi-grade 1 level.[3]

Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Although he was no match for Maki's immense physical prowess during her rampage, he displayed some hand-to-hand combat capabilities and decent mobility before perishing.[1]

Jujutsu

Innate Technique
Chojuro Zenin's technique.png Chojuro's technique allows him to manipulate the earth to some degree. By touching the ground and activating his ability, Chojuro created two giant stone arms to attack Maki, clasping her between them. She was easily able to break out, surprising Nobuaki who believes she shouldn't have been able to move at all after being hit.[4] The stone arms also remained after Chojuro's death, suggesting the formation is solid enough without needing cursed energy poured into it at all times.[5]
