Summary[]
Kasumi is taken by surprise when Maki showcases skills far beyond what Mai had described. At the same time, Momo attempts to teach Nobara a lesson on why women sorcerers like Mai face undeserved hardships.
Plot Details[]
Maki proves to be more than Kasumi can handle.
In the past, while training for the Goodwill Event, Kasumi asked Mai about Maki. Naturally, Mai claimed Maki was worthless and would be a grade 4 forever. Kasumi was relieved about possibly facing off against Maki but currently, Kasumi is realizing that Mai was completely wrong. Kasumi considers Maki to be crazy strong.
Maki swings around her polearm with great skill despite the cramped fighting space. Kasumi is shocked by how she might have died twice already if Maki was actually trying to kill her. She even believes that Maki could defeat a grade 2 curse with ease.
Mei Mei comments on Maki's rank.
Kasumi activates New Shadow Style: Simple Domain, which allows her to intercept anyone who comes within 2 meters of her using an Iai Sword-Drawing technique. Maki casually breaks her cursed tool and throws it as Kasumi to negate the effects of her Simple Domain. Kasumi intercepts Mai's projectiles but the latter is able to close the distance and disarm Kasumi of her sword.
Grade 1 sorcerer, Mei Mei watches the girls duel using her crow. She's in the viewing room with Gojo, Utahime, and both Principals. Gojo and Mei Mei agree that the Zenin family should just allow Maki to be promoted. Mei Mei simply claims she can't understand connections not based on money. Gojo suspects something is going on due to the inconsistent video feed, but he's confident that Yuji can take care of himself.
Nobara continues to try and bring Momo down.
One of the talismans on the wall burn red, signaling a Tokyo student had exorcised a curse. It was Panda who did so, but Gojo notices that all the students seem to be focused on one-on-one battles. Nobara continues chasing Momo around, attempting to fight.
Using her broom to fly, Momo taunts Nobara and blasts her with gusts of cursed energy fueled wind, strong enough to push Nobara back. She also telepathically controls her broom to hit Nobara right after she recovers. Right after, Momo begins to start lecturing Nobara about how life is more difficult for female sorcerers. She claims Mai has faced discrimination far beyond what the first year can understand. Nobara claims she understands, but only that she understands that Momo is incredibly annoying.
