Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 37 (
Summary
The final clash between Yuji and Sukuna begins! Yuji's main goal has always been to rescue Megumi, who appears to have given up on living. However, Yuji's struggle has breathed new life into his friend, who is ready to return the favor and stand against the King of Curses!
Plot Details
Megumi's soul asks Yuji to stop trying to save him. With Tsumiki dead, Megumi's dream of creating a world where his stepsister wouldn't suffer, or at the very least preserve his fragile yet idyllic lifestyle, was quashed. As such, he no longer wishes to live. Remembering when his grandfather contracted lung cancer and refused treatment, Yuji understands Megumi's point-of-view and admits that he can not tell his friend to keep living.
As the showdown between Sukuna and Yuji begins, the former activates Hollow Wicker Basket and maintains it with two of his hands. While he could restore his burnt-out cursed technique with reverse cursed technique, Sukuna believed it would be too risky to do while his brain was still affected by Unlimited Void. Unlike domains that manifest mental images, Hollow Wicker Basket and Simple Domain have weaker outputs and can only buy time for a sorcerer before being inevitably overpowered. However, Sukuna can offset this weakness by maintaining the hand signs after activating Hollow Wicker Basket, preventing the anti-domain technique from being overpowered.
The two sorcerers fight hand-to-hand, with Sukuna mercilessly beating down Yuji and flinging him away. Even Sukuna himself is surprised by how furious he's feeling from being pitied by Yuji and swears to have the boy's loved ones pay for his offense. A young Megumi appears in Yuji's imagination, posing him the same question as when he first met Satoru Gojo. A tearful Yuji says that he will be lonely without Megumi. Suddenly, shadows burst forth beneath Sukuna's left foot, causing it to sink in and throw him off balance. After Mahoraga's destruction, Sukuna's Ten Shadows Technique had ceased to function, meaning that the shadows came from Megumi. The King of Curses realizes that Yuji's Dismantle breathed life back into Megumi's submerged soul!
Capitalizing on the opportunity, Yuji punches Sukuna in the face, sending him flying into a tree. Knowing that Megumi helped him, Yuji smiles before charging at Sukuna through the snow. After pummelling Sukuna with punches, Yuji kicks up some snow and grabs Sukuna by the head, a gesture the latter returns. Both combatants then repeatedly punch each other's heads until Sukuna gives in first. Yuji's consecutive soul-rending strikes cannot be healed with reverse cursed technique and threaten to dismantle Hollow Wicker Basket.
Suddenly, flying slashes slash apart the claw-like gauntlet on Yuji's left arm, revealing his actual arm underneath. Using Gojo's method of resetting a burnt-out cursed technique, Sukuna replenished his Shrine and prepares to unleash his domain expansion when he notices that Yuji's left hand was missing its ring and pinky finger. In an unknown location elsewhere, one of Sukuna's fingers is suspended in the air via wires.

I put some sound effects on the Sukuna from page 4 and it turned into an ad for Sushizanmai. |
