Summary
The ladder to victory is a perilous climb that only the strongest can manage! As his allies fall one after another, Yuji must rise to the occasion and reach a new realm of power to match Sukuna.
Plot Details
As the light from Hana's Jacob's Ladder shines down on Sukuna, Yuji assists her by punching and collapsing the ground beneath the King of Curses. The pillar of light blasts down on Sukuna, but Hana suddenly notices him climbing upwards using the rubble as footings. Unlike the sure-hit Jacob's Ladder in Yuta's domain that only targeted Sukuna, Hana's would also affect Todo and Yuji. Enduring the purifying light, Sukuna was sure that he could reach the Angel's vessel without those two sorcerers interfering.
Coexisting with an incarnated cursed object causes a sorcerer to rely on the incarnation's cursed technique and lack physical strength themselves. As a result of losing her arm, Hana's output has considerably weakened. As Sukuna jumps behind Hana, he charges up cursed energy in his fist and prepares to kill her. Todo unexpectedly leaps up and blocks the punch for her, which triggers a Black Flash, causing Sukuna to recognize him as a true sorcerer. Nonetheless, the impact rockets both sorcerers into the ground, incapacitating them.
"Domain Expansion."
With Todo and Hana out of commission, Sukuna turns his attention to Yuji, only to find the boy right behind him after having chased him through Jacob's Ladder. Yuji punches Sukuna in the face before grabbing his legs and slamming him through a building. Regaining his footing, Sukuna dodges a Cleave from Yuji before launching Dismantle at him. Although Yuji dodges it, he is suddenly met face-first with a punch from Sukuna's left hand. Having struck two Black Flashes, the King of Curses restored his reverse cursed technique output and regenerated his missing hands!
With his hands regained, Sukuna finds it unnecessary to make any risky moves and relentlessly pummels Yuji while waiting for his burnt-out technique to recover. Touching the ground, Yuji activates Cleave and crumbles the ground beneath Sukuna. He tries to capitalize and strike Sukuna with a soul-rending Dismantle, but misses and hits the wall behind him. Though the attack is deadly to him, Sukuna does not think Yuji can threaten his life as long as it doesn't hit.
Having underwent replacement training with Atsuya Kusakabe, Yuji learned the fundamentals of barrier techniques. Remembering when Gojo taught him about domain expansions while within Jogo's Coffin of the Iron Mountain, Yuji forms a hand sign and expands his own domain! Awakening inside a train station-like environment, Sukuna finds himself returned to his appearance when Yuji was his vessel. Yuji, appearing as he did before hosting Sukuna, cheerfully tells Sukuna to get ready.
