Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 27 (人外 (じんがい) () (きょう) (しん) 宿 (じゅく) 決戦 (けっせん) Jingai Makyō Shinjuku Kessen 27?) is the two hundred and fifty-fifth chapter of Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen.

Summary

Miguel and Larue, allies of Suguru Geto, join the fight as a way to mourn their late friend. Miguel needed serious convincing to take on Sukuna, but the man who went toe-to-toe with Satoru Gojo proves he might just be the difference maker.

Plot Details

Suguru Geto's former commanders, Miguel and Larue have arrived in Shinjuku to assist in the battle against Sukuna, rescuing Ui Ui and Atsuya Kusakabe with their cursed techniques.

Some time before the showdown between Satoru Gojo and Sukuna, Yuta Okkotsu and Larue arrived in Africa to meet with Miguel, hoping to convince him to join in the battle. Miguel refused, believing Sukuna to be too dangerous to fight even if he were exhausted. Not even the possibility of the Great Merger damaging his own country was enough to convince Miguel, who demanded Gojo himself come ask for his help if it was so needed. Larue then asked Yuta to leave him alone with Miguel so they could talk.

After discussing their mutual love for Geto, Larue convinced Miguel to fight Sukuna as a way to mourn their former leader together. Miguel begrudgingly agreed to join the raid on the condition he fights Sukuna after he defeats Gojo and Yuta, and is unable to use his domain. He also asked Larue to assist him in the fight.

In the present, Miguel notes that Sukuna cannot use his domain and thanks Gojo for it. Larue adds on that Sukuna's reverse cursed technique output is weakened, his lower left arm is incomplete, his lower right arm is non-functional due to being split, and his heart hasn't fully healed. Miguel thinks Sukuna is an easy target and the three subsequently engage in battle. Their battle eventually takes them inside a large building, where Larue uses his hand-conjuring cursed technique to grab Sukuna and crush him against a wall. A bloody gash suddenly appears on his right hand as Sukuna destroys the conjured hand and launches slashes at him and Miguel. Larue endures the slashes while Miguel dodges them and Sukuna's subsequent kick with great agility. Miguel then physically brawls with the King of Curses.

Larue's cursed technique, Heart Catch, allows him to "grab" the target of his cursed technique by creating a virtual hand. The hand can be restored after being destroyed, although ten percent of the damage returns to Larue's body. Sukuna finds this technique boring and is more fascinated by Miguel's Prayer Song, which allows him to strengthen his physical abilities and drive away curses by keeping up a beat.

While visiting Yuta in Africa and meeting Miguel, Gojo explained that Miguel's cursed technique allows him to buff himself and debuff his enemy without a domain, making it a convenient technique. Miguel wondered how Gojo knew about his technique, to which he replied that seeing it gave him the basic idea. Gojo added on that Miguel's physique is much more dangerous, as compared to 99 percent of sorcerers who are Japanese, Miguel's different musculoskeletal system combined with cursed energy reinforcement makes him stronger than most. Miguel adamantly refuted this claim as a racist stereotype and insisted that he was strong through his own efforts, causing Gojo to apologize. When asked by Yuta if Miguel is a threat to him, Gojo metaphorically claimed that without cursed techniques and only cursed energy reinforcement, he would win in the marathon, but Miguel would win in the sprint.

Sukuna's second Black Flash

Sukuna hits Larue with his second Black Flash.

In the present, as Miguel fights Sukuna hand-to-hand, the latter notices Choso standing on a balcony behind him and quickly ducks behind a wall, causing his Piercing Blood to miss. Sukuna then emerges from his cover and fires Dismantle at Choso, cutting into his arm. Yuji Itadori crashes through the building's ceiling and lands on top of Sukuna, who is sarcastically surprised that the boy is still in the fight.

Initially, to broaden Dismantle's target and launch a slash that cuts the world, Sukuna only had to form the Enmaten (閻魔天 (えんまてん) Enmaten?) hand signs, the same hand signs used to cast Malevolent Shrine. However, when Gojo's unlimited Hollow Technique: Purple destroyed half of his arms, Sukuna was unable to use the technique. In order to cut Gojo, Sukuna imposed a binding vow on the world-cutting Dismantle's activation conditions that added incantations and directing the slash with his hand to the conditions.

Suddenly, Sukuna's upper left hand is cut off by Maki Zenin, revealed to have survived his Black Flash earlier. With only two right hands remaining and his reverse cursed technique output still not recovered, Yuji believes that the jujutsu sorcerers can finally finish off Sukuna and rushes forward. Just then, the King of Curses is blessed by the sparks of black and lands his second Black Flash on Larue! With two Black Flashes, Gojo was able to regain his reverse cursed technique output, and Sukuna is poised to do the same.
