Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 22 (
Summary
Yuta Okkotsu takes responsibility for the failure of the Executioner's Sword plan by igniting a new strategy centered around his domain expansion! With access to endless copied cursed techniques, the Queen of Curses, and Yuji's soul-targeting punches by his side, Yuta leads the way for the sorcerers to finally go on the offensive and bring down the King of Curses once and for all.
Plot Details
Yuta's Domain Expansion, Authentic Mutual Love allows him to imbue one of his copied cursed techniques into the domain's barrier as its sure-hit effect. Every other of his cursed techniques are randomly stored within the katana swords in his domain's environment, which only he can access. Although a katana's cursed technique is unknown until Yuta grasps it, and the sword disappears after the technique is released once, the number of swords is unlimited.
Holding a sword containing Dhruv Lakdawalla's technique, Yuta creates three miniature shikigami that resemble Rika's head with bat wings, which fly around Sukuna. Meanwhile, Yuji Itadori lands two punches on Sukuna, with the latter noting something unusual with the strikes. From above, Rika punches down on Sukuna, forcing him to dodge it by stepping away. Sukuna is subsequently slashed on the back as he passes through the shikigami's paths from earlier, causing him to realize that Yuta used a technique which places an inviolable barrier on their trajectories.
As Sukuna watches Yuta hover in the air using Takako Uro's technique, he assesses his condition. Due to his battle with Satoru Gojo, he is still unable to use his Domain Expansion, and the effects of his reverse cursed technique are weakened. In addition, his cursed energy reserves are lowered to roughly the same as Yuta's, and having to constantly maintain Hollow Wicker Basket prevents him from unleashing world-cutting Dismantles.
Rika grabs Yuji and throws him at Sukuna. At the same time, Yuta closes in on Sukuna, launching a pincer attack in conjunction with Yuji. As Sukuna blocks Yuji's kick, he makes note of the true nature behind Yuji's strikes. By applying the same logic that allowed him to directly damage Mahito's soul, Yuji is perceiving and striking at the boundary between Sukuna and Megumi Fushiguro's soul. This allows him to slowly awaken Megumi's soul, which was submerged by the Bath, and interrupt the physical connection between Sukuna and Megumi, thus decreasing Sukuna's cursed energy output and control over his body with each strike. The jujutsu sorcerers' plan is to have Yuji weaken Sukuna enough until he can't maintain Hollow Wicker Basket, at which point Yuta will use Jacob's Ladder to extinguish the cursed object inside of Megumi.
As Sukuna fends off Yuji, he attempts to activate Cleave on Yuji. However, Yuta uses Cursed Speech and orders him to not move, stopping him. Yuta takes advantage of Sukuna's immobility and strikes him with Thin Ice Breaker in another katana, blasting the King of Curses into a pillar. Sukuna regains his footing on the pillar, only for Rika to appear near him and smash him down. As Yuji and Yuta rush after Sukuna to continue the assault, Sukuna uses the brief respite to launch Dismantle at them, dealing heavy slashes to the two sorcerers. With the two sorcerers driven back, Rika battles Sukuna alone, only for him to grab her fist and cut it apart with Cleave, forcing her to retreat.
Sukuna notes that while the two are not as durable as Ryu Ishigori, killing them with slashes is impossible without using Cleave. Additionally, while his cursed energy output is lowered from his fight with Satoru, Sukuna finds it strange that all the sorcerers from Jujutsu High who appeared to fight him had high-level defenses, Yuji was able to learn reverse cursed technique in a month, and Yuta was able to narrow the target of his domain expansion's sure-hit effects to only him, which requires a highly advanced barrier technique. Amused, Sukuna asks Yuji and Yuta what they did in the past month. Yuji responds that they achieved their power through hard work and grit, while Yuta says they cheated.
Both Yuji and Yuta realize the highly dangerous situation they are, but resume their attacks nonetheless. As Rika and Yuji occupies Sukuna's arms, Yuta draws blood with his katana before attaching a manga panel to Sukuna's chest using Charles Bernard's G Warstaff. Having fulfilled the conditions for ink, Yuta sees Sukuna's future movements and dodges his attacks while landing a heavy blow to his head, with Sukuna noticing the technique's precognitive effects.
As Rika and Yuji continue the assault, Sukuna lists out the five cursed techniques he's seen Yuta use, and considers the possibility that he copied Limitless. He quickly dismisses the notion, as the Six Eyes is required to control Limitless, and wonders if Yuta has no more techniques. At the same time, Yuta realizes that he can catch Sukuna whenever he uses a technique for the first time. Picking up a katana, Yuta uses Uro's technique to block Sukuna's view of himself before thrusting the sword through the distorted space at him. Sukuna catches the katana, only for Yuta reveal that the cursed technique within it was Cleave as he activates it. Slashes form on the King of Curses' surprised face as he realizes that Yuta copied his technique.

I figured out that Arai-san was wearing an Umbro x Avnier jersey, but they don’t sell it in Japan. |
