Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 17 (人外 (じんがい) () (きょう) (しん) 宿 (じゅく) 決戦 (けっせん) Jingai Makyō Shinjuku Kessen 17?) is the two hundred and forty-fifth chapter of Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen.

Summary

As the battle between the feverish gambler, Kinji Hakari, and the Frozen Star, Uraume rages on, Higuruma and Yuji spring their plan to put Sukuna on trial into action. Sukuna has no qualms about receiving a guilty verdict, curious about Higuruma's Executioner's Sword. However, just as all seems to be going to plan, a critical oversight threatens any chance at victory.

Plot Details

Elsewhere in Shinjuku, Hakari and Uraume fly through the air as they battle each other. Uraume uses Frost Calm, breathing out supercooled cursed energy that creates a large block of ice while encasing Hakari's right arm. Uraume then punches the ice, shattering it and destroying Hakari's arm with it. As the ancient sorcerer manipulates cold cursed energy in their hands and attempts to finish off Hakari, the third-year student instantly regenerates his arm and grabs Uraume by the face before proceeding to slam them through an apartment building.

Back on the ground, Uraume creates a large ice spike and notes that in terms of regenerative speed using reverse cursed technique, Hakari surpasses the likes of Sukuna and Satoru Gojo. They then launch the icicle at Hakari, piercing his side as he rushes towards them, though the sorcerer remains unperturbed as the injury instantly heals and he swiftly launches a kick at Uraume.

Grabbing the foot, Uraume quickly begins to freeze it. However, Hakari opts to break it off instead, instantly regrowing it and kicking Uraume with both his feet. The power behind the dropkick launches Uraume through several buildings. Hakari gives chase, finding his shoe along the way. Uraume declares that they need to change their attitude towards the battle, since Hakari is unlike other modern sorcerers, who try to retain their humanity by limiting themselves from destroying what they can out of fear of alienation. In this regard, Hakari is not "human", so going forward, Uraume will no longer treat him as human and crush him with all their might. Hakari remembers a similar conversation with Yuta Okkotsu, who he respects and is moved by due to his reliable character. The two sorcerers then resume their battle.

Meanwhile, inside of Deadly Sentencing, Higuruma begins divulging the rules of the domain to Sukuna. Having been shared the evidence, Higuruma thinks that their victory is secured since the evidence given was the same evidence used in Yuji's second trial: proof that Sukuna was in possession of the boy's body while committing the mass murder at Shibuya. However, Sukuna suddenly interrupts him as he explains the rules, having been briefed on it already during Yuji's battle with the lawyer. He admits guilty to the charges, causing Judgeman to sentence him to "Confiscation" and "Death Penalty".

Jujutsu Sorcerers ambush Sukuna

The other jujutsu sorcerers arrive on the battlefield.

Now armed with the Executioner's Sword, Higuruma speculates that since Sukuna lost the Ten Shadows Technique in his fight against Satoru Gojo, Confiscation likely disabled his Shrine. Without his cursed technique, the sorcerers of Jujutsu High seize the golden opportunity to attack Sukuna.

Higuruma suddenly remembers Yuji's words to him after he declared his participation in the battle, asking him if he wished to die. As Takuma Ino, Choso, and Atsuya Kusakabe appear on the battlefield, Higuruma and Sukuna realize that the sorcerers no longer had a winning chance. As a flurry of slashes lacerate the lawyer and Kusakabe, Higuruma realizes that if the target of Confiscation carries a cursed tool, then Confiscation will take away that cursed tool instead of their cursed technique. Confiscation confiscated Kamutoke instead of Shrine!

“Utte deru” makes it sound like the battle is just getting started, but the kanji “hit then leave” makes it seem like you’ve already won.
