Summary
The climax of the battle of the strongest! Satoru Gojo's voltage ramps up and the King of Curses is uneasy for the first time in a millennium. The fight will ultimately be decided if Unlimited Hollow carves its way through Shinjuku again.
Plot Details
Gojo unleashes more successive Black Flashes.
As a result of a second Black Flash, Gojo's reverse cursed technique output returns and he experiences a rush of exhilaration as his arm is restored. Meanwhile, Sukuna feels uneasy for the first time in a thousand years as the advantage slips away from him.
Gojo hits Mahoraga away with another Black Flash and then engages Sukuna in hand-to-hand combat. He throws Sukuna into Mahoraga and then begins an incantation. Every sorcerer produces a spark of cursed energy when they activate a cursed technique with Gojo being no exception. Sukuna can tell by the chant and the spark of cursed energy that Gojo will unleash Cursed Technique Reversal: Red. He plans on using Mahoraga to block the attack and adapt but Gojo fires Red in the air instead.
Sukuna quickly realizes Gojo's strategy and orders Mahoraga to stop him. The orb of Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue that destroyed Agito is still levitating in the air. Sukuna wants Mahoraga to destroy Blue but Gojo uses the field of attraction to boost his speed and intercept the shikigami. The attraction doesn't affect Mahoraga because of its adaptation, which has backfired in this case. Gojo punches Mahoraga away and Sukuna shoots an imitation Piercing Blood at Red to force it to explode.
"Hollow Technique: Purple"
Gojo hits Sukuna but it's after he's already released shot Piercing Blood. Sukuna believes it's too late but Gojo counters by quickly reciting the incantation for Blue to boost its output. This increases Blue's field of attraction, absorbing the stream of water away into it and away from Red. While all three fighters in the sky, Gojo chants the incantation for Hollow Technique: Purple as his opponents can only look on. In the monitoring room with Gojo's allies, Yuta apologizes to Kusakabe. Even with his strength, Yuta realizes Gojo wouldn't have been able to pull this off if he had been there to hold him back.
'The strongest' carves his name into the battlefield of Shinjuku!
An imaginary mass rushes forth and decimates a large stretch of Shinjuku. Mahoraga and its wheel are completely disintegrated as well. Sukuna narrowly survives the attack but he's heavily injured, hardly able to stand, and missing his left hand. Gojo was hit by the explosion as well but suffered far less damage, which he assumes is because it was his own cursed energy. This is the first time Gojo has gotten caught in his own attack and commends himself for the improvised remote activation of Purple.
Confident victory is at hand, Kusakabe comments that it's Gojo who has regained his output against a heavily injured Sukuna. Yuji asks for affirmation just to be sure and Kusakabe optimistically reaffirms that Gojo has won.
