Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 5 (
Summary
Satoru Gojo and Sukuna's battle defies all logic and reason as each of them continues to push past all previously defined limits. For each momentum shift, there is an equal and opposite force to counter it until Gojo is forced to do something even more unexpected.
Plot Details
Yuta and Kusakabe are surprised that Gojo somehow managed to heal his exhausted innate technique through reverse cursed technique. Yuta compares an exhausted innate technique to an overheated engine, which can only be resolved by letting it cool. Healing physical damage should be an entirely different matter altogether yet Gojo has somehow managed to make it work. Yuta states that perhaps his understanding of reverse cursed technique is incomplete but also worries that his sensei is simply pushing far beyond his limits to acheive something thought impossible.
Gojo asks Sukuna if he can expand his effective range even further and the latter just does that by increasing Malevolent Shrine's range to its maximum. At the same time, Gojo expands his domain once again, surprising his allies. They quickly realize that Gojo has swapped the conditions of his barrier to make it durable to attacks from the outside and Kusakabe wonders how he can switch the conditions of the barrier so effortlessly. The two fighters engage in hand-to-hand combat and Gojo is taken by surprise when Sukuna lands a combo utilizing domain amplification. It's normally impossible to use amplification and an innate technique at the same time, but techniques applied to the domain already are an exception. Despite Sukuna increasing his output, Gojo dismisses his achievement and lands a hard countershot to the ribs.
Sukuna recovers quickly and spins around Gojo's back while grabbing onto his leg. Gojo immediately realizes that Malevolent Shrine's sure-hit effect has been deactivated. However, Sukuna has experienced how Gojo's domain works from inside Yuji, so he's aware Unlimited Void won't affect him as long as he's touching Gojo. Using a binding vow, Sukuna increasea the power of his domain outside of Gojo's barrier by removing the sure-hit effect on the inside of it and reducing its range. As a result, Gojo's barrier once again collapses and he's immediately barraged by slashes. While watching this dire situation, Kashimo reminds Hakari that he's going out next if Gojo dies.
Gojo surprises Sukuna by activating Falling Blossom Emotion to counter the slashes with cursed energy, resulting in shallow wounds. Kusakabe is able to recognize Falling Blossom Emotion but no one else seems to have ever even heard of the secret art. Kusakabe explains how it works but Choso adds that its output still isn't enough to rival a domain. Shoko argues that it'll buy Gojo enough time to heal his exhausted technique, which Yuta is still concerned about. Once again Gojo opens his domain but this time he expands it extremely far, rivaling Sukuna's maximum range. His allies are concerned because the quality of the domain itself will suffer and the outer shell even begins to crack. However, the domain begins to shrink until it becomes so small that it resembles the size of a sports ball.
