Stars and Oil, Part 3 (
Summary
Choso rejoins the battle as Yuki Tsukumo struggle against Kenjaku becomes increasing desperate. Together they hope to corner Kenjaku before his cursed techniques replenish but the curse user refuses to go down without a fight.
Plot Details
Continuing the conversation between Choso and Yuki prior to Kenjaku's arrival, Choso stated that he didn't care if he died so long as Kenjaku did as well, for the sake of his family including Yuji. Yuki asked Choso to listen to Tengen's plan for dealing with Kenjaku's domain first. Even so, Choso still suggested he go first because Kenjaku wouldn't open his domain if he knew another fighter was lying in wait. Choso knew that if Kenjaku defeated him once, he would write him off and treat the fight as a one-on-one battle.
Just as he intended, Choso ambushes Kenjaku and takes him by surprise. Garuda squeezes itself around Kenjaku's waist and adds weight to prevent him from moving. With his target unable to move, Choso aims his compressed blood at point-blank range directly in front of his father's forehead. Poised to end Kenjaku once and for all, Choso calls out to his brothers and says it's time to commit patricide, promptly firing Piercing Blood. Kenjaku miraculously survives by allowing the blood beam to hit the top half of his head, which is switched on. This section spins around and has the same effect as slipping a punch in boxing. Kenjaku's head is injured from the attack but he brushes it off and reattaches his head.
Yuki commends the curse user for surviving Choso's assault and attacks him with a powerful kick. She believes Choso would've ended the fight if Star Rage wasn't weakened by her injuries and provided the proper amount of weight to Garuda. Even so, Yuki is confident Kenjaku only pulled off such a desperate maneuver because he's cornered.
Yuki and Choso fight through their injuries and attack Kenjaku together. They're able to overwhelm him but can't deal significant enough damage to end the fight. Choso knows Yuki needs to heal her injuries in order for her cursed technique to power up and fights Kenjaku on his own while she does so. Yuki uses reverse cursed technique to heal her mangled body but this weakens Star Rage's effect on Garuda's hold. Kenjaku slips out of Garuda's grasp and gets some distance. Unwilling to let go of the momentum, Yuki grabs Garuda by the bill and swings its body around like a whip, destroying the environment with her attacks.
Yuki and Choso manage to pincer Kenjaku from two sides but he suddenly activates his gravity manipulation technique. This sends Garuda and Choso crashing into the ground, revealing that Kenjaku has replenished his cursed techniques. Choso laments and Garuda moves again a few seconds later, only to be forced back to the ground by gravity. Yuki ordered her shikigami to do this purposely while she observed. She deduces that Kenjaku can only manipulate gravity a few meters around himself for about six seconds. Armed with Garuda, Yuki attacks Kenjaku in that interval, crushing any cursed spirits he tries to use to buy time. Yuki delivers several hard blows in quick succession as she tries to seize the moment and put an end to her opponent.
However, Kenjaku surprises her with a miniature Maximum: Uzumaki that blasts her upper body. He wasn't using cursed spirits to buy time for gravity, he used them to build up Uzumaki and take Yuki by surprise. While Yuki shields her face with her arms from the initial blast, Kenjaku targets her lower body with a second mini-Uzumaki. He's figured out that Yuki's durability doesn't increase as a result of her technique and fires a blast of cursed energy clean through Yuki's lower torso, dealing her a fatal injury as Choso cries out for her.

I was just supposed to have it playing in the background during work, but I ended up watching every second of Japan’s match. Yellow card! |
