Stars and Oil, Part 2 ( (ほし) (あぶら) Hoshi to Abura 2?) is the two hundredth and sixth chapter of Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen.

Summary

Yuki Tsukumo and Tengen execute their plan to counter Kenjaku's domain in hopes of finally defeating the curse user. However, they made a major miscalculation and underestimated their opponent. When the plot goes awry, Yuki must rely on her toughness to survive and execute one last-ditch effort to win.

Plot Details

Yuki hit by Kenjaku's domain

Tengen fails to save Yuki from Kenjaku's can't miss attack.

Prior to Yuki's fight with Kenjaku, she discussed the details of her plan with Tengen. As planned, Choso confronted Kenjaku in the labyrinthine of empty barriers directly above the Tombs of the Star Corridor. A skilled barrier technique user such as Kenjaku can freely manipulate the environment within an empty barrier. This works in Yuki's advantage, as Tengen wants him to feel comfortable so that he'll stay within the barrier. Tengen is confident they can dispel the empty barrier along with Kenjaku's domain in ten seconds if Yuki can get him to open it.

Yuki asked if she should use Domain Expansion instead of Simple Domain, which would likely guarantee Kenjaku to expand his domain as a result. Tengen rejected this idea because the outer layer of the domain would be hers, meaning erasing the empty barrier would dispel her domain first. Additionally, Kenjaku could resist her domain with anti-domain techniques. They decided to go with the strategy of getting Kenjaku to expand his domains Tengen could erase it and Yuki defeat him once their cursed techniques are unusable.

Yuki attacks Kenjaku despite her injuries

Yuki keeps attacking Kenjaku despite her injuries.

However, Yuki and Tengen miscalculated. Kenjaku is able to expand his domain without closing the barrier, leaving no outer shell for Tengen to remove. Yuki defends herself with Simple Domain but its quickly stripped away by the curse user's superior barrier. Tengen assumes the edge of Kenjaku's sure-hit area is the outer shell of the barrier and tries to erase it in time. Kenjaku figures out Tengen's play and boasts that the two of them aren't alike because he's lived a thousand years of conflicts and alliances in a cursed world.

With Yuki's entire Simple Domain destroyed, she's hit by a large blastwave from Womb Profusion's can't-miss attack. Tengen dispells the empty barrier and Kenjaku's domain immediately after, but it appears as if this is were too late. Kenjaku and Yuki fall to the room below where the latter is gruesomely injured and collapsed on the ground. Kenjaku tells Yuki that expanding on her own domain would've been better and relying on Tengen was a mistake. He claims that Tengen is hiding something important and prepares to reveal something about the Culling Game.

Choso ambushes Kenjaku

"I like the rough type."

However, Kenjaku doesn't complete his statement because he notices that Yuki has moved and her shikigami is in her place. The curse user notices Yuki behind him and turns to face her, leaving him open to an attack from Garuda. He avoids Garuda and assumes Yuki is using the shikigami to buy her time to heal. Kenjaku decides to use that time to replenish his cursed techniques but Yuki does the unexpected and attacks him herself. Rather than use reverse cursed technique, Yuki uses her mangled body to pressure Kenjaku with a flurry of high-paced combinations of close ranged attacks. Garuda manages to wrap itself around Kenjaku but Yuki collapses from her injuries as a result of pushing her body beyond its limits.

Kenjaku assumes that he's won and questions if there was a better course of action for Yuki. In response, Yuki reminds Kenjaku that she likes the rough-type of man. On cue, Choso comes crashing through the wall behind Kenjaku with compressed blood already prepared to take out his estranged father.
