Summary
Naoya Zenin wasn't slain using jujutsu, allowing him to be reborn a vengeful curse that is as grotesque as it is powerful. Maki and Kamo work together to take down their demented foe, but their efforts only force his evolution.
Plot Details
Naoya tries to get his revenge on Maki.
Before the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, when Yoshinobu Gakuganji was scheming with Noritoshi to kill Yuji, the Principal asked Noritoshi what he needed to remember when killing an enemy sorcerer. Noritoshi replied that the enemy must be killed with jujutsu to prevent their transformation into a curse after death.
Currently, Maki is pinned down by Naoya, who has returned as a vengeful cursed spirit. She believes he turned into a curse because she killed him with her fists and not cursed energy. However, Naoya reveals that Maki's mother was the one who took his life, surprising Maki. He adds that he's come to Sakurajima to kill her and taunts her for fighting halfheartedly. Noritoshi's arrows suddenly rain down on Noaya, forcing him away from Maki. Naoya says he hates Blood Manipulation and Maki asks if her ally used his intuition to aim. Unlike Maki, Naoya's location is easy to sense, allowing Noritoshi to snipe him with arrows from a remote location.
Noritoshi uses Piercing Blood on the cursed womb.
Naoya sees the next round of arrows as they're remotely guided through the trees and says they're too slow. Maki catches Naoya off guard and throws the curse into the arrows. The blood on the arrows stuns Naoya, allowing Maki to slash him across his body. As Naoya bleeds profusely, Noritoshi wonders if Maki finished him off. Naoya confirms that cursed spirits feel pain and says that he regrets hurting so many. He immediately reveals he didn't mean a word of that statement as his body implodes and begins metamorphosing.
Naoya's evolution!!
Maki and Noritoshi realize Naoya is a cursed womb and has taken a cocoon-like shape in an attempt to evolve. Maki tells Noritoshi to shoot the cursed womb because it's floated too high for her to reach. Noritoshi takes out a blood pack and uses convergence on the blood before firing Piercing Blood directly through the cursed womb.
Noritoshi scores a direct hit and Naoya appears to scream out in pain as his cocoon begins to disappear. Relieved, Noritoshi thinks about how difficult it would've been to deal with Naoya had he gotten faster. However, the smoke and dust dissipate, revealing Naoya's final form survived the attack. Naoya is much small now with a more humanoid shape and a face like a skull. Maki feels Naoya's murderous intent and warns Noritoshi but the evolved curse's move too fast for Noritoshi. Naoya sends Noritoshi flying with a lightning-fast punch, destroying several trees along the way. Naoya claims that Noritoshi was trash and was completely clueless about his place.
