Tokyo No. 2 Colony, Part 3 ( (とう) (きょう) (だい) 結界 (コロニー) Tōkyō Dai-Ni Koronī 3?) is the one hundred and eighty-third chapter of Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen.

Summary

Hakari traps Charles inside his gambling-based domain and turns their fight into a game of luck. To achieve victory, he needs to use his skills to take hold of his good fortune and hit the jackpot.

Plot Details

Hakari brings Charles into his domain

Hakari brings Charles into his pachinko-themed domain.

The guaranteed hit of Idle Death Gamble instantly transfers its rules directly into Charles' mind. Hakari's domain is based on a pachinko machine and hitting the jackpot guarantees him a bonus. The flow and rules of the gambling-themed domain are plentiful, irritating Charles with a load of information dumped into his brain.

Both fighters descend into the starting stage of Idle Death Gamble and Hakari begins by flicking a reserve ball at Charles, which he blocks with G Warstaff. Hakari follows up by conjuring shutter doors that nearly close on Charles's legs but he avoids it by jumping away. While evading, Charles analyzes the game flow and recognizes both of Hakari's attacks so far have been visual effect indicators. According to the rules, once one or more indicators have been generated, riichi mode begins. Hakari slots two fours, which feature the character Hiro Kato and the stage automatically changes to the low-chance transit card riichi scenario. If Yuki (the main character of Private Pure Love Train) arrives at work on time, Hakari hits the jackpot. Charles attempts to attack Yuki to ensure he's late, but the riichi scenario is just a visualization and obstruction is pointless. All Charles can do is observe the scenario or attempt to defeat Hakari before it ends.

Hakari activating riichi mode

Hakari goes for the jackpot.

Charles can't use his G Warstaff to predict Hakari's indicators or the scenario outcome. However, he's aware that the indicators Hakari used were green and red, meaning the scenario has a high chance of failing. Yuki fails to get to work on time and Hakari slots a five instead of three consecutive fours, returning both fighters to the starting stage. This will repeat until either Hakari hits the jackpot or Charles defeats him. Despite things going well for him thus far, Charles expresses his irritation with the appropriation of Candy Nakamura's Private Pure Love Train manga. He attacks Hakari by rapidly thrusting his spear at him and points out that the latter only has a one in two hundred and thirty-nine chance to hit the jackpot. Charles also boasts he can still see his opponent's immediate future and won't allow the game to go on forever. Hakari taunts him for being unable to land a hit despite being able to see the future and conjures gold shutter doors, indicating a high chance of the next riichi scenario resulting in a jackpot.

Charles injures Hakari

"If this was a game of skill instead of luck you might have won."

Using the doors to hide his movements, Hakari slips behind Charles and claims that he's never gone over thirty spins whether going easy or all-in on the game. He throws a punch that's blocked by Charles's spear and activates another riichi scenario. This time he slots two threes, featuring the character Yume Asagiri and the stage changes into the final train scenario with an eighty percent chance of success. Yuki and Yume are on opposite sides of the train platform and if Yume isn't on the last train when it departs, Hakari will hit the jackpot. Hakari continues to attack as the scenario plays out, making it difficult for Charles to focus on the future while trying to analyze the situation.

Hakari defeats Charles

"Wrong. I use skill to grab ahold of luck!"

The final train departs and Charles yells for Yume to leave, hoping that his opponent missed the jackpot again. Yume appears to have disappeared from the train station and Charles assumes that the jackpot was missed. Invigorated, Charles manages to land a solid blow on Hakari, cutting deep into the side of the latter's torso. Confident he's won, Charles taunts Hakari for relying on luck instead of skill. However, Yume appears on the same platform as Yuki and reveals that she indeed missed the train after all. Hakari slots three consecutive threes and hits the jackpot, giving him enough power to break through G Warstaff with a single kick to Charles' face, defeating him. Victorious, Hakari replies to Charles's earlier taunt by stating that he uses skill to grab ahold of luck.
