Sendai Colony, Part 7 (
Summary
It's come down to Yuta and Ryu as the last two elite players standing in Sendai Colony. Ryu has waited four hundred years to satisfy his insatiable hunger and although Yuta doesn't see much meaning in fighting, he happily agrees to indulge his opponent. Their cursed energies clash in an epic exchange that brings Ryu ever closer to the sweet dessert that he's longed for.
Plot Details
Yuta indulges Ryu's 400 years of hunger and thirst.
Yuta can only unleash a directed beam of cursed energy while Rika is completely manifested. Even at full power, Yuta's blasts are slightly weaker than Ryu's. In order to win the exchange, Yuta intends on rapidly building cursed energy and firing first before Ryu reaches maximum power.
However, Ryu's eyes express over four hundred years of hunger and his gaze pleads with Yuta to use his full power. Although Yuta would never find true meaning in conflict, Ryu's gaze melted his heart. Yuta agrees to go all out just this once and both sorcerers unleash their cursed energy. The blasts collide in a cursed energy beam struggle, but Yuta's is quickly overpowered.
Yuta copies Uro's cursed technique.
Yuta and Rika are seemingly hit and Ryu immediately expresses how much fun the clash was for him. The gleeful sorcerer is surprised when he suddenly feels his opponent's cursed energy rising and asks for another beam struggle. Rika fires a blast of cursed energy while Yuta rushes forward toward Ryu. Yuta jumped at the same time the last blast hit, launching him forward at high speed. Rika is able to shoot completely on her own but Ryu blocks the beam the beam with his bare hand, claiming he can do whatever Yuta can. He takes aim at Yuta and expects to finish it with his next attack, believing his opponent can't heal quickly due to the cursed energy he expended on top of using domain expansion.
However, unbeknownst to Ryu, Yuta's cursed technique has already replenished. He uses Takako Uro's ability to warp space and redirects Ryu's Granite Blast into the air. Shocked, Ryu realizes that Yuta can copy cursed techniques and tries to surmise what condition he must fulfill to do so. He recalls Rika devouring Uro's arm and figures that must've been when he satisfied the condition. Yuta capitalizes and scores a direct hit to Ryu's chest with Uro's Thin Ice Breaker move. Rika follows up with a downward punch that's so hard it causes Ryu to bleed profusely from his head.
"This is... my dessert!!!"
Five minutes have passed since Yuta donned his ring, causing the connection between he and Rika to end. Ryu takes advantage by hitting Rika with his full power, an attack that was too much for her to handle even while fully manifested. Rika reaches her limit and disappears from the battle, but Yuta continues to fight on his own. Ryu is excited that there's even more to their battle even after clashing at full power. He happily declares that this last exchange is the dessert he's been longing for.
"Thank you, my stomach's now full!!!"
Yuta surprises Ryu by grabbing him with both hands and pushing their weight down so hard that it cracks the ground beneath their feet. After effectively immobilizing them both, Yuta claims that the fight is over, confusing Ryu. While Ryu's looking down at the cracked ground, his Granite Blast from earlier rains down on him and strikes the unsuspecting sorcerer.
Knocked to the ground and defeated, Ryu quickly realizes that he was just hit by his own beam. Yuta redirected it back down using Uro's technique at the same time Rika hit Ryu. Despite his defeat, Ryu is satisfied with the high level battle he participated in and thanks Yuta now that his stomach is finally full.
