Plot Details
While running through the streets evading attack, Reggie comments on being surprised his opponent has a shikigami like Megumi's Max Elephant. Max Elephant attempts to spray Reggie with a torrent of water but the rival player is able to avoid it. Megumi leaps from a building above Reggie accompanied by his Rabbit Escape shikigami. Reggie throws a receipt and transforms it into a net that ensnares the rabbits. Megumi narrow avoids the net and jumps onto a chain linked to two poles to break his fall.
Reggie activates his innate cursed technique, Contractual Re-Creation, and transforms several receipts into kitchen knives. The knives fly toward Megumi as projectiles but he's able to deflect them with a blade of his own. Some rabbits are pierced by the knives, allowing Reggie to surmise that, unlike the other shikigami, they can reappear regardless of how many are destroyed. Reggie knows Megumi has figured out his cursed technique, which has the ability to manifest what's written on receipts.
Reggie burns a receipt with his technique to re-create the contract and endows himself with a two nights stay at a five-star Japanese inn. He's now as refreshed as he would be after relaxing there in the hot springs for two nights. In contrast, Megumi is worn down from the ambush on top of having used several shikigami. Megumi always employs multiple shikigami at once, but he typically summons Max Elephant alone because it burns through cursed energy. Reggie figures that Megumi can't re-conjure his shikigami after their injured, and without the flexible Divine Dog: Totality, he's limited in his options. Reggie adds that both of them lack big finishing moves and will need to peck away at each other over time to achieve victory. In Megumi's condition, doing so in this manner should be impossible. .
Megumi allows Nue to carry him away and claims that he'll run away in that case. Reggie quickly summons drones equipped with cameras to follow his opponent and monitors him using a cellphone as a receiver. He also summons a moped to pursue his adversary and tracks Megumi's position to a gymnasium. Reggie questions whether Megumi really fled or if he's trying to lure the fight inside. He could burn the building down but Reggie doesn't want another drawn-out chase. Inside the gym, Megumi is glad to see the area is as spacious as he'd hoped. Reggie appears on the balcony above him and asks what his opponent is plotting. Megumi says Reggie is likely planning something as well and the latter claims that it's hard to tell because sorcerers are nothing but con artists.
Suddenly, two trucks crash through the wall of the building and drive straight at Megumi. Surprised, the Jujutsu High student acts quickly and is able to slip under the pursuing vehicles safely. He's annoyed that Reggie misled him by claiming he didn't have any "big moves." Two potted plants are re-created above Megumi out of his line of sight and fall on top of his head, busting him open. Reggie follows up bly slicing up Megumi's back and left arm with a small knife. Megumi gets cut several times and tries to retreat, but Reggie throws a daikon carrot at him. Distracted by the unorthodox projectile, Megumi is taken off guard when the daikon breaks apart and reveals a kitchen knife inside. The knife stabs into Megumi's elbow and then Reggie front kicks him into the face.
Megumi is knocked to the floor and slides across the gym, thoroughly overpowered. Reggie explains that things he re-creates behave like shikigami. Knives and such can't normally fly through the air but Reggie can get them to do so with a simple command. Reggie doesn't take Megumi to be very cooperative but he asks for his points anyway in exchange for a quick death.
Megumi responds by stating that barrier techniques are difficult for him and he can't make an artificial environment over a real one of a different size. However, Megumi can use the gym as a perfect space for his domain. As planned, Megumi casts his Domain Expansion, Chimera Shadow Garden, and forcibly encloses the barrier around the gym to trap Reggie inside. Reggie didn't think Megumi was a sorcerer capable of using Domain Expansion and is taken by surprise. Having successfully turned the tables, Megumi states he never said he didn't have any big moves.
