Batto Sword Drawing (
Description
An iai sword-drawing technique optimal for striking enemies situated directly in front of the user. It covers the blade with cursed energy to greatly improve the drawing speed of the blade. Batto Sword Drawing is the fastest technique within the New Shadow Style.[1]
Usage
Kasumi Miwa
Kasumi had learned this technique sometime before the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. She used it for the first time to fight curses in Kyoto during said event.[2] During the 2018 Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, she used it in combination with Simple Domain against Yuji Itadori, when the Kyoto students first ambushed him. However, Sukuna's vessel managed to dodge it, much to her surprise.[3] She then unsuccessfully attempted to use it against Maki Zenin before being disarmed.[4] She used it for the fourth time against Kenjaku, but this time the attack was blocked by him, breaking her sword.[5]
Atsuya Kusakabe
Kusakabe seems to be an experienced user of the New Shadow Style, so his uses of this technique were so far more successful. He first used it against two curse users during the Shibuya Incident, killing them.[6]
Tsurugi Okkotsu
Tsurugi has learned this technique and complements it with his cursed tool Honoyagi. By infusing the katana's blade with flames when he draws it, Tsurugi's Batto burns away everything within his vicinity when used.[7]
