History[]
Akari Nitta was born as the older sister of Arata Nitta to non-sorcerer parents. Unlike her brother, Akari did not have a cursed technique and could barely see curses.[1] To better watch over her younger brother, Akari enrolled in Kyoto Jujutsu High to become an assistant manager. After graduating, she became an assistant manager.[2]

Recently becoming an assistant manager,[2] Akari was assigned to supervise Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki on their mission to investigate the cause of mysterious deaths where the victims were killed at the entrances to their homes. As she drove them to their lead, the three victims' former classmate, she discussed the details of the deaths and mission with them. Unfortunately, their lead had already died under similar circumstances by the time they arrived. Looking for other clues, the four then went to Saitama Urami East Junior High, the alma mater of the four victims, where they encountered two of Megumi's former classmates and Takeda, a long-time part-time worker. From them, Akari and the jujutsu sorcerers learned that Yasohachi Bridge might hold answers for their investigation and depart for it.[3]

After they failed to find any clues at the bridge, Akari met with the students outside a convenience store as they discussed their plan. When they met with Fujinuma and asked her about the paranormal activities she recently observed at her home, Akari deceived her into believing that the three students were helping her with a college report so she wouldn't be aware of their jujutsu-related mission. She later drove Yuji and Nobara back to their inn after the mission was reassigned to other sorcerers.[4]
Discovering that the students snuck out of the inn, Akari called them but to no avail.[5] Frustrated, she searched for them in her car, eventually driving to Yasohachi Bridge where she found the first-years after they completed their exorcism.[6]
Shibuya Incident Arc[]

On October 31, 2018, Akari met with Naobito Zenin, Maki Zenin and Nobara Kugisaki at the Shibuya Mark City Restaurant Avenue Entrance after a curtain was cast in Shibuya. She informed them about the situation and that they would be on standby.[7] At 9:22 P.M., after Satoru Gojo was sealed, civilians trapped inside the curtains surrounding Shibuya were attacked by transfigured humans. Akari along with Team Zenin proceeded to head into the curtain to protect the humans. Soon after they entered, Kiyotaka Ijichi called her, telling her to exit the curtain after confirming the situation inside. Ijichi wanted her to be outside of the curtain so the assistant managers could establish constant communication, since cellphone signals were blocked inside. Suddenly, Ijichi was attacked by someone.[8]
Hearing Ijichi being attacked, Akari relayed her concerns to Team Zenin. Maki then ordered Nobara and Akari to head towards Ijichi's location and check up on him. Arriving at Shoto Bunkamura Street at 9:40 P.M., the duo encountered the curse user Haruta Shigemo.[9] Nobara told Akari to hide, but whispered for her to pretend to hide in the Bunkamura subway entrance and escape through the Tokyu exit behind Shigemo instead. When Nobara faced off against Shigemo, Akari ran into the subway entrance. However, the curse user's hand-sword followed her and slashed her legs, immobilizing her. Sensing her location through his sword, Shigemo pursued and kicked Akari upon finding her. After incapacitating Nobara, Shigemo taunted the sorcerer by stabbing Akari with his sword.[10]

When Kento Nanami arrived at the scene, Shigemo attempted to hold Akari hostage, but realized too late that she escaped by crawling up an escalator during the confusion.[11] After the grade 1 sorcerer defeated Shigemo, Akari and Nobara listened as he told them that Ijichi was alive and Satoru Gojo was sealed. Nanami then ordered the women to stay and wait for rescue.[12] At 11:14 P.M., a paramedic team came to provide aid for the two. Against Akari's pleas, Nobara left her with the paramedics for treatment before rejoining the battle inside the curtain.[13]
Shinjuku Showdown Arc[]
Akari accompanied Utahime and Gakuganji to a underground seal, where the latter revealed Remnants of Tengen where discovered in the remains of Sukuna which would be stored to keep Tengen's barriers in Japan in placed. AKari and Utahime opted to look for alternatives and countermeasures but Gakuganji assured the two there was no rush.[14]
